Hi all, I've been doing my results section, just waiting for my computer to run the stats - its taking about 30 mins, but SPSS is still chugging away and hasn't crashed yet :-)
Can anyone recommend a smartphone? I need one, not sure what to get or why. I had an Apple 3g something iphone, I think its a Iphone 3? anyway, hubby took it off me and now I'm phoneless. I want a smartphone but have no idea what ones are good. I was quite happy with snake on my Nokia 3330
Sneaks, hubs and I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace each (Iphones were out of our budget!) and we love them! I think it's about £200 but we got it through our phone contracts. Before that I had a dodgy old nokia, and I was a bit dubious about the Galaxy Ace because I didn't need all the apps on it...however I am officially converted!
Hi all,
I managed to finish the inroduction late last night .....
todays goals after a busy day ..
1. chapter one...get its aims clear and restructure the sections clearly....
Sneaks I have no suggestions for iphones etc- but I know exactly what you mean about snakes on nokia 3330 i had exactly the same phone and used it to the point it was falling to peices in my hand... now i have a touchscreen samsung something or other with no games and i am expected to buy the ones on offer .. grrrrhhhh... the phone works great though (I think its a galaxy!!!)...
Button .. i hope that lit review is coming along for you ... im doing the same all of tonight....
Star shaped your progress is enviable...(up)
Onwards and upwards!!
hmmm, as my hubs has my old iphone, me having a new iphone would mean we could share the apps. Its all so confusing and I feel really old! I slightly hate Apple though because they are so mean and make it so difficult not to use itunes etc which annoys me. I also think a blackberry is too 'corporate' perhaps, but I also don't want a phone geared towards social networking because I'm not really that fussed by facebook etc. I barely use it.
Sorry I can't offer any advice about smart phones! I'm currently using a battered old Ericsson which is held together with cellotape.
Well I didn't manage to finish my literature review yesterday and will have to do it later. My first goal which will take most of the day is to tackle my least favourite data chapter and see if I can get it thesis ready.
Naturalme- if your phone is similar to mine go on 'market' or 'samsung apps' and donwload the free games/apps- angry birds if an indreidlby addictive game, and you can also download the kindle app etc, all for free
Right, I need to send my fully edited lit review to sup tomorrow, so this means I have got today to make the last corrections that I've been putting off doing for two weeks, because I don't know what to do!
Goal 1 (which will take me all day!)- tackle the last corrections
Hope all is going well for everyone!
morning all,
BUtton thanks for the advise.. I have now discovered its actually only a samsung monte... I mean this is how not intouch with technology I am. Anway unfortunately I dont have the relevant operating system- Therefore the gameless life continues grrhh...
Goal for today is the lit. review chapters and I seem to be dreading parts of it so much !!! so will break it into bite sizes.... corrections per paragraph or something to that tune...
Hope everyone is doing Ok
We can do this ;-)
Naturalme, that's a shame! The games on my phone are very distracting though, so maybe it's a good thing that you can't access them!
Okay, so I've actually kind of done goal 1- I've tackled the corrections as best as I can, but I've sort of squirmed out of doing it properly because I need to talk to sup about it.
Goal 2- sort references for big diagram
My least favourite chapter is now thesis ready. :-) I'm still not entirely happy with it but it'll do for now, until I've had some more feedback from my sup.
My next goal is to put a table into my methods chapter and then to save that in my 'full draft' file!
My method and literature chapters are now in the 'full draft' file. Just a few bits on my intro, discussion and one of my data chapters to go. (up)
My goal for the rest of the day is to finish a job application.
..help... I keep finding new material as I am attempting to restructure a section of my lit review and this is just throwing me off, cause Im going down different tangents and questioning what I have already done... any tips anyone..
Goal of the day still stands :$
Nauturalme, I think it helps to set aside times just for writing and times just for reading. So then you can just get on with your writing and worry about the other literature later without being distracted.
Today I am tackling the one data chapter which is in a bit of a state. My first goal is to redraft and pad out the section I decided to add.
had a bit of a rubbish morning :-(
Goal for today: finish the results section of chapter I'm working on.
What's up Sneaks?
I have now padded out the section I was working on. I need to have one or two more goes at it as it's pretty drafty at the moment. I am going to move on now though and my next goal is to get my introduction thesis ready.
