Thanks Cindrella but I ended up not being able to do everything I'd planned. I'm glad you had a good time with your friends though! We all need that now and again.
The 'weekend' deadline has definitely become 'Monday', thankfully this wasn't an official deadline so I'll try to get everything done by lunchtime, if not looking good by then, I'll have to email sups :-(
Goal for the morning: proofreading and do some references eek
Good luck, Skig, hope you manage it okay!
I'm off to my conference on Sunday, so this week is all about getting some results to present and sorting out my presentation. Trying not to be too scared - I mean, there's four other sessions on at the same time as mine (it's a huuuuge conference) so maybe nobody will come to mine anyway...
I have a supervision meeting at 3pm to talk about the conference presentation (my supervisors are so lovely and supportive!) so by then I want to have a good summary of what I've found from the data so far, a rough version of the PowerPoint slides, and a plan of the other analysis and stuff that I'll get done this week.
So far today I've got up, eaten breakfast, shaved the dog, taken the dog for a walk, made a cup of tea. I want to get an entire chapter ticked off today. If can concentrate its probably doable, but I already feel bored/tired/not in the mood :-(
Goal 1 for today: Change Intro section of Chapter
Thanks Batfink, it's looking ok so far but I started with the easiest one lol. Hm... Not wanting you to be nervous, but I wouldn't count on no one coming or you might get a shock when they do! I'm actually very excited for you as I've never presented on a conference myself. Good luck with your meeting today!
Cindrella, good luck with your meeting today too!
Thanks Batfink, you reminded me to send my poster to the printing office, so its ready for me to collect on wednesday for conference on friday (up)
Hah, thanks Skig, that hasn't worried me at all.... :p Actually, I know it'll all be fine, if I do actually get my act together this week!
Sneaks, I keep remembering little things I need to do before my conference too, like collect my rail tickets and get some Euros! Maybe I'd better make a list...
I've got to the stage where I'm desparate to submit. Its weird, a year ago, I had a thesis I was happy with and thought it was really good. I'm now going through redraft after redraft and I think its awful, but it MUST be better than before, I just can't see it! I've got to the stage now where I'd prefer to get a major amendment and get the stupid thing off my back, rather than carry on tweaking. For me, as long as I don't get an Mphil, or have to re-viva, then its a good result :p obviously hope for better, but I'm beginning to realise that no one really cares. in a year's time no one will remember I had an amendment or whatever, so I'd rather just get it done.
Wow! This thread has been busy!
I'm taking a short break as I've been proofreading for ages and my eyes are going funny lol so I come here to do some more reading 8-) yeah, I know, it doesn't make sense.
@Ady, I didn't know you had to email today too! I hope you manage it, I'm not feeling any closer (even though I must be!) and lunchtime is fast approaching!
@Sneaks, c'mon, you can do it!!! ;-)
Me four, Swetchha, Sneaks and Ady!! I just want to finiiiiish!
