I think I will start participating in this thread once again (that is if you want me.....:p )

So, having finished one analysis chapter, and having sent it to supervisors, today I have to make an outline of my next analysis chapter.
I give myself 2 hours (I know what I want to put in it, I just have to decide where to put eveyrthing), and then I have to take 2 cats to the vet and then go to the gym....

right goal 2 = method section of chapter

can't decide whether to take dog out now or do results section. May take dog out as it isn't raining (yet)

@Sneaks, sounds like you're on a roll! I'd say carry on but I think dog walking is a bit more urgent.

I still have stuff to do but I might need to take some time off, even if a couple of hours. I'm knackered!

dog walked, also gossipped with old lady next door for 20 mins about the new and old neighbours (house next door just sold) and her arthritis which was informative, but slightly boring lol.

Onwards to the horribleness of the results section!

Hi all, I had put together all the results, taken print outs this morning. I had a meeting with my supervisors for two hours. They are happy with my results. I am going to work for a couple of hours now and go to my friend's place later in the evening for dinner :-)

Wow, the thread really has been busy! Hope everyone's getting through the work okay today.

Supervision meeting done, and my supervisors were lovely and supportive and had lots of suggestions about my conference presentation. Completely exhausted now, don't know why. Going to write up my meeting notes then go home and have a relaxed evening and early night, and hopefully feel better tomorrow.

PS - did everyone realise that today is Talk Like a Pirate Day? So - erm, ahoy landlubbers! Avast, me hearties! Shiver me timbers! etc etc :-)

I have one goal today and that is to finalise the chapter I have been working on ... all the sections are written ,.. I just keeping feeling like I should put more in?....grrrhhh at some point this evening I will just have had enough and I will email it to my Sup.

OMG @ Ady I am so super jealous about the shoes, wish I had thought of that .. I hope you bought a lovely pair that you will enjoy ( when I email this draft Im doing now to my sup could you please buy me a pair as well? ... im a simple girl so a pair of knee high leather boots with a rubber sole from schuh will be very much appreciated:p)

I have a question does anyone have some distractions that they are finding great solace in and escaping to when they can - during the write up? I have stumbled upon the book - Game of thrones- It is well and trully escapist fantasy- and a very bad idea for anyone who should be writing the final chapters of their thesis:$...I digress

well I'm slightly annoyed. Sup has noted that I need to do sig testing for some of my descriptives. its not part of my hypotheses. And it would mean running 4 mixed ANCOVAs - not a problem in itself, but I also need to put the data differently, meaning about 2 hours of data entry :-( also, I'm a bit worried that its a bit bad practice, just randomly running sig tests on stuff to see if differences are significant? I'll have to do it anyway I suppose. Pretty much guaranteed I'll be on here in a week saying she deleted all the analysis anyway (sprout)

that's annoying Sneaks, wonder if your supvervisor and mine were separated at birth??

Also cats (mum's and mine) were taken to the vet (poor kitties!!!!!! They had their vaxines...)
Gone to the gym for the first time after summer (realised that every-day swimming is actualy good)

@Sneaks, doesn't your sup know about your deadline???? Not good (down) I hope the analysis makes it to the final thesis though...

I still have a few things I need to do but decided to have a break today and didn't do much after emailing sups. Back to normal tomorrow though.

not sure my sup really cares about any deadline tbh, her past supervisees have got to the stage where I'm at now, and 3 of them then took between 2-5 years, yes years to then hand in. I'm determined not to do that (one of them did get it in by the deadline, so I'm hopeful!) so I'm being quite determined about saying I WILL be getting it in in the next few weeks and will not put up with much more faffing. My concern is that my sup has asked for a lot of changes. I suspect she doesn't realise how much change she has actually asked for, so I'm worried I'll give it back to her and she'll say its worse :-( she's also refusing to see any copies of anything, until its all in one document with page numbers, contents page etc. - i.e. she won't read individual chapters as I finish them, which is annoying because I wouldnt mind some feedback while I'm finishing off each chapter.

Anyhoo, I finally did the results, I'm not sure they add anything, in fact I think they may raise issues about whether I should have conducted them, so am going to keep the output,but not put it in, see if they say anything. :p

I wanted to finish the entire chapter today, but I've only done up until the end of the results. I'm too tired now though, so tv for 30 mins and then bed!

Naturalme -Cheers! I enjoyed having dinner with couple of my friends and the girly talk :p I know the feeling of putting in more stuff which is really hard to get out of. Did you manage to email it to your supervisor?

Sneaks - Additional work doesn't sound nice at this stage but just get on with it and you will be done soon!

Skig - Break day sounds great :-) I hope you had a good rest. I wish I can take a whole week off and go to somewhere warm!!! 8-)
