Morning!
I don't know how you can watch 'tv' and do work at the same time Sneaks... I wish I could, I think I'd find referencing less painful but I probably wouldn't do any work either and just end up watching one programme after another!!
Well done for finishing your dreaded chapter Naturalme! Yeah, maybe you're right, emailing my sups on Mon was the end of an era but not quite literally so I must find the motivation to continue somehow!
@Skig, it was just adding in references. I managed to 11 pages whilst watching downton abbey and x factor.
I'm out all afternoon today, so need to get a few things done this morning.
Goal 1: Sort out paperwork and print
Morning everyone, you all sound very busy and productive!
Today, I'm continuing with my preparation for the conference presentation. I also need to email the two organisations hosting my study just to keep them in the loop/keep in touch with them.
Goal 2 - pretty much done.
Goal 3 = sort out conference presentation that co-presenter has ruined AND had slides and handouts etc all printed and sent out to delegates without checking with me, so my intellectual property has been put out there for everyone to steal for their own work AND I now need to do loads of work on it because he didn't check with me about the final content and now the handouts don't match the slides :-s :-s :-s
Thanks Skig. I don't leave for the conference until Sunday but am starting to get nervous now! But the few days I'm having afterwards in Amsterdam should make up for any stress :-)
Yesterday, I managed to make good progress on my data analysis and know what I want to include in my conference presentation. So today is all about writing the presentation. My supervisors said they'd look at the Powerpoint and give me feedback if I sent it to them before tomorrow morning, so that's the plan now.
Good luck with all your work everyone!
@ Sneaks, Batfink27 - Hi both, looks like both of you are bang on to give your presentations :-) Good luck and have fun there (up)
@ Skig - Absolutely, I can totally relate when you say that sometimes it is better not to take long breaks as one might feel like being in the middle of nowhere.
@ Naturalme - Well done! I'm glad to hear that all the hard work is being paid off :-) All the best for the rest (up)
@ Emmaki - Good luck with getting time to work on your thesis :-) I can imagine how hard it can be to manage both, you are doing great!
I have been extremely productive for the last two days and things are slowly falling in place. I am writing section by section and it is going on ok :-)
Thanks Cindrella, I'm feeling almost ready for it now!
And Emmaki, good luck with getting to the work, must be such a struggle to find time!
Today, I'm finishing my presentation (just need to tidy up content for one slide) and rehearsing for timing, and sending it to my supervisors before lunch for final comments. Also other preparation stuff, like washing clothes! And that's all....
I'm still on references and appendices. Really didn't think it was going to be that hard. Thanks to Ady's tip I'd started doing bits of referencing every day but there's still a fair bit left and appendices are a killer. That reminds me I need help with that... off to start a thread.
Hello all!
My thesis-day starts now!
It is 14:30 here and after a difficult day at work, with need children for assessment (that is what I do by the way) I have to sit in front of my computer and shift my mind to my thesis.....
I CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, my first goal for today is to write section 2 of 2nd analysis chapter (again)....
Than, and if I finish it, I have to add a few things in section 1........
Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!
Presentation finished, handout finished, laundry nearly done, packing planned... I think I'm nearly ready for the conference! Just got to rehearse the presentation a few times tomorrow before I leave on Sunday. And catch up with my partner tonight and tomorrow cos he says he's going to miss me!
Good luck with all the work everyone, I'll be back in just over a week....
