ok, so I think I've done GOal 1. I've found in the last year I just do work - not really thinking about it, I just get it done. I think the quality has suffered, so trying to put a bit more thought into it!
Goal 2 = sort out the method.
So I've dealt with goal 5, the run and the humongous lunch. Not got round to drafting that email yet as per goal 6, but I'll move that down the list in favour of getting comfy in my sunny living room with some reading - gotta take advantage of the sun being out for once! So:
Goal 6. Read the remaining chapters of the library book which is due back tomorrow.
Hi Folks. The plumber came this morning and my water is now back on and boiler is fixed.
Haven't been too productive today, just reading the introduction of a book, part of a chapter and scanning for further reading on the topic. Will have to get the book from the library tomorrow in order to finish it properly. Am going to get a bath now. Just because I can - and because I feel monumentally mingin'. Aterwards I'll read two, maybe three more articles on another topic.
morning all.
I have lots of goals today. I want to get my results and discussion done for this cahpter though - so that's the main one (and one I'm dreading!)
I also have to ring an online store to see if they have radiators in stock - joy.
I will be murdering someone today! :-s Cannot decipher ANY of sup's handwriting -she seems ro abbreviate words to nonsense and also scribble them e.g. 'research' becomes jhg or something ARGH!
Hellon everyone!
Sneaks, I can understand how you feel about your sup's messy handwriting....I get to feel like that with mine....:$ I even manage to change styles in a page.....I can imagine how difficult it would be for someone else to read my writing...........
I went to a very interesting talk yestarday evening.... It was about economic science and the damage economists have done to the world economy.... I always though that economics are connected to matehmatics, but the professor that was talking said that it depends on the "school"....
OK! Goals for today:
1) Check analysis of 15 more interviews
2) Check in for Friday's flight
3) Find passport
hope you find your passport Emmaki!
Award for least helpful feedback on a thesis goes to my supervisor for.......
a big ? in the middle of a page - well, I'll be sure to correct whatever it is you were questionning :-s
Morning folks
Just arrived at my desk after a hectic start to the day. I've only got a few hours of desk time as well before I need to be off again, so efficiency is the name of the game today!
Goal 1. Finish draft email and send
Goal 2. Read papers for meeting later today
Goal 3. Make photocopies of stuff (my favourite task today :p)
Anyone here today?
I have a horrible goal today, of re-writing (for the 10th time) the discussion section of the current chapter I'm working on - I've been putting it off for 3 days but it needs to get done - someone else isn't going to write it for me are they? Are they????? 8-)
Ok, no they won't. So I have to get it done today as tomorrow is a family-meet-up so all time will be wasted!
Breaking it up into smaller sections.....
Goal 1: write a paragraph on how my findings have repeated existing research. I'll give myself until 11.30 to do that.
Hi Sneaks, I'm here, albeit very sleepy and in a thoroughly foul mood thanks to my dear husband's drunken snoring keeping me up all night :-s I had been full of good intentions about getting lots of work done before our visitor arrives early afternoon, but as it stands I'll barely get anything done now! That's one MASSIVE dog house he's in right now...
Sorry to hear that you're back to tackling the same thing AGAIN, poor you. These things are soul destroying aren't they? Good luck!! I will have to set myself a suitably small target now for the sake of getting it done in time and still having ticked off at least something. So, goals for today:
Goal 1. Write thank you email to someone who was immensely helpful to me yesterday
Goal 2. Write up notes of supervision meeting and circulate
