Miss Piggy, 'it's just the alcohol', it affects our memory and sense of time etc ;-)
Batfink, no I don't have a date yet, but I have a mock in a few weeks so must get **** in gear for that. I hope you feel better soon! Try not to overdo things or you might get worse. It's not fun being poorly when we have tons to do.
Day not been too bad so far. I've accomplished goal 1, then went food shopping and had lunch. Off to do goal 2 now, which will probably only take me a few minutes as I've not written that much, then off to plan the dreaded prep.
I have a meeting at 3pm, so I'll be happy managing these small goals for today. We all have to start somewhere!
Happy to report that the hangover is starting to subside, although the stomach is still a little delicate. I really should know better at my age!
Well, the meeting I came rushing back for turned out to be a complete waste of time as the other person hadn't actually done what they were meant to do in prep for it. :-s Now for a final little goal before I need to head off for some field work.
Goal 4. Back up computer and write time plan for weekend work
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's been suffering with illness, self induced or otherwise ;-) I've had a really terrible, non-productive week as I've had a migraine and the beginnings of a cold, and I've felt really guilty about being away from the desk for so long! But the good news is I managed to do 1,000 words today, hurrah! Have a fab weekend everyone, back to the grindstone Monday! (I don't work on weekends unless I reeeeally have to at the moment!)
Lindalou, thanks for the support. I'm very impressed you managed to do work whilst poorly with migraines! Well done you. I hope you feel better soon.
I'm happy to report that everything went smoothly yesterday. Unfortunately, I've not done much today at all. Been on the phone for most of the morning and I'm working this afternoon so I might just do some minor amendments on my paper before lunch and call it a day as I have some errands to run before work.
Not sure if anyone is around this weekend, good luck if you are!
anyone around today? I need someone to read my acknowledgements for grammar errors. I'd usually get my mum to do it but want to thank her in it!
Hi Sneaks, yes I can do it. Am having a day of lounging around, while I ruminate the thesis...
I'll PM you my email address.
Hi Skig, good to see someone using this thread again!
Just had a supervision meeting where my main supervisor moved the goalposts yet again - why do they do that?! And they told me to take 2 weeks off at Christmas but now want me to give them 2 chapters to read on 10 January - not entirely sure how I'll manage to write those and also take the time off! Oh well, I do need to knuckle down!
Goals for today:
1.) Write up notes from supervision meeting and email to supervisors
2.) Finish poster design and submit to conference organiser
3.) Spend remaining time going through journal alerts
sorry - Ive only just caught up with this. I think the acknowledgements were fine. I now need to get on with writing up for publication. YAWN
Good to see you around, Sneaks.
All my goals are achieved for the day so I feel very happy and like I've earned the beer I'm going to have when I meet up with a friend tonight. Beer on a school night! Whatever next...
Morning all! It's only 9.20am but I'm already in procrastination mode which is super scary as I've got TONS to do. (Probably the reason why I'm procrastinating!) So, there's nothing for it, I will need to commit myself to some goals this morning to get moving:
Goal 1. Prep info for sup meeting
Goal 2. Phone study participants
That'll do for now :-) Good luck everyone with their work today!
