Well done Button, I got 1,00 words done today in the end but it was a struggle! Have a good weekend all!
Good morning,
Hope you're feeling better today Button, I hate being poorly and then trying to work! You had a fab week last week though workwise so good on you!
I'm kind of dithering this morning about what I want to do the most, so I think I'll start with something "easy" -
Goal 1 is to re-arrange the sections of my chapter into a more coherent structure!
Goal 2 will be to add in some theory of change and disempowerment
Goal 3 will be to read the papers I've been downloading this morning
Overriding goal though is to keep the word count going! I managed 1,000 words on Friday, not 100! So I'm now only 3,000 words to go, which will include the introduction and discussion so I should be able to get it wrapped up this week I hope!
Good luck everyone!
Good morning everyone! I'm back after a week away from these boards - I was on a residential training course for a statistics technique for two days last week, then spent the rest of the week going back over the course notes and making sure I really understand the technique, as it looks perfect for my research.
Button and Lindalou, sounds like you've both made huge progess over the last week or so! And hello to the new faces on the thread too!
My goals for today:
1.) Continue thinking through the tests I need to run on my data before starting with the new technique
2.) Start running those tests
3.) Write an action plan for the next event to be run by the voluntary group I chair, before tonight's meeting - oops, should have done that before today!
Welcome back Batfink! The new stats process sounds very promising for your analysis.
I'm plodding along, written 1327 words this morning but my tummy doesn't feel all that good! I really want to get this section finished this morning though, didn't realise it was so near to lunchtime!
Well done Button, I'm not doing very well with writing today though I don't really have an excuse I'm afraid, however I have achieved Goal 1 which was to re-organise my chapter into sections, I've lost a couple of hundred words but hey! Hopefully I will be able to come back to it this afternoon and get some proper writing done!
2073 words written.
Linda, don't be put off by how fast I seem to be writing; I'm actually writing my meth chapter which is really straightforward, and I have a REALLY detailed plan. When writing my lit review I was averaging writing 1000 words a day, and that was on a very good day!
Ok, I've done goal 1. Goal 2 is to write the next section before lunch, which shouldn't take long.
Well done you! I'm still on Goal 2/Goal 3 but I may scrap them both in favour of reading through my sups and potential examiners thesis. I want to make sure I'm "doing it right" by their approximation! I've done lots of thinking so that's good... though I'm now needing a nap!
Wow you guys...how do oyu manage to write 1,000 + words a day....!! at that rate you must be planning to finish in the next couple of months? 3 out of 4 goals completed today, been in lab, tidying up a bit of analysis...now to bash out my 300 words....here goes.:-)
Heh, yes, it does sound like you're all doing very well at the moment!
I've had quite a good day so far today, made progress on everything I was aiming to look at, and now I have a couple of hours to get on with some more data testing. Recoding my variables is taking longer than I wanted though! Oh well.
Goal 3 is done, so I'll get cracking on goal 4 seeing as hubby isn't home yet!
Davies- I'm only in my second year but have started writing up very rough chapters. The reason why I can write so much each day is because I have very very very detailed plans! It will take me weeks and weeks to plan a chapter, but then I can get it written in a week or so. Despite much advice I've been given I don't really write for writing's sake, I'll just write a chapter when it seems appropriate.
Well done all, keep going!
