Goal 1 - DONE - made it to the office woohoo!!
Goal 2 - tried but failed - people unavailable until next week - which is a setback as it means I can't progress with setting up with expts til then
Now onto goal 3.
Keep up the good work Button - you're doing great (up)
Gah. Managed to produce the world's most rubbish poster for my meeting with my supervisors. So now I have lots of hints from them about how to improve it, all ignoring the fact that the main reason it's rubbish is that I have nothing to put on it yet! But my lovely second supervisor gave me a new template with a much fancier university logo and swirly border, so that's cheered me up a bit. As has having a sandwich, as I realised I hadn't eaten since yesterday lunchtime, and that might have explained how sluggish I was feeling!
Oh well. Goal 2 for today: redesign poster according to supervisors' comments.
Heh, I don't normally go that long without eating! It was just that I was feeling rubbish yesterday so went to bed late in the afternoon, and then had to run for the early train this morning so didn't have a chance to think about food then either. Oh well, all sorted out now with a lovely BLT sandwich!
I think I've finally finished my poster, and it's loads better than the embarrassingly bad effort I showed to my supervisors this morning. Still lacking any actual research content. Oh well!
I really should set myself a target of reading a couple of journal papers before going home, but my head aches, so maybe I'll just faff around for a bit. Hmm, maybe I'm coming down with something.
Christ, I went 2 hours this morning without eating and I found myself desparately trashing my kitchen in search for some chocolate digestives I knew were somewhere!
I've been naughty today, not done enough work! I know this will come back to bite me pretty soon. I feel the 3 o clock calm coming though, so maybe I'll be able to get some done in the next few hours.
Goal 5: done
Also I found some of the people who I've been trying to chase up so part of Goal 2 done :-)
Goal 6 next
aarrrgh!!! I hate my life!! I don't have some of the stuff I need for my methods chapter, some of it I can get on Friday but some of it I don't think I've even done, basic stuff that I'll probably get a slap on the wrist for! My head's turned trying to get this chapter into some sort of order, I've had to constantly go back and re-tweak the method and it's getting really difficult to write it up so it doesn't look like a right mess! And I've had yet another argument with my boyf, that's one every day this week :( Stupid arguments but still, it's just tensions that I don't need, I'm crap at trying not to think about it until it's sorted!
Goal 3 -DONE
I know it's early but I'm seriously contemplating giving up for the day even though there are 3 incomplete goals hanging over my head. The office is so stuffy and I'm getting sleepy :-(
Hmm, I'll finish the next tomato and then make a decision - that will make 8 - although I didn't count my pre-lunch work.
right - Goal 1: Take dog for a walk
Goal 2: Finish analysis I started yesterday
Goal 3: Vote
Goal 4: stay up watching election results while doing more analyses
Goals for today:
GOAL 1: Go through chapter 6 noting the gaps and where I need to write bridging sentences between sections, etc.
GOAL 2: Fill in said gaps and write bridging sentences.
GOAL 3: Make notes on my Conclusion.
GOAL 4 - the most important one today - go and VOTE! Don't forget, people! (up)
GOAL 5 - Draft the introduction of my conclusion (if that make sense).
Just realised I'm so knackered today that it took me 20 mins to walk the 10 minute walk to work...I can't figure out if it's PhD fatigue or actual body fatigue...hmmm.
Anywhoo, todays goal is to update all my references on Menderley, then head home to vote. And Ev, I just read your post from yesterday, go you for getting into the office and doing work, I'm very pleased for you and hope things are doing better (up)
