Hi everyone,
It seems everyone has made some progress. I had an exhausting and chaotic day yesterday. I need to deal with some admin things from graduate school, which is very time consuming. Still need to follow up with the school these couple of days.
my goal today,
1. understand the methodology of "covmat fixup".
2. understand the code, (if cannot understand, write my own), add error process.
3. write memo with sup
Hope everyone is doing well today.
Wow, Button, you're flying today, and yesterday too. Congrats!
I've just got to campus, I just missed the early train and then the next train and the bus were both just unreasonably slow so it's taken me forever to get here. But I'm feeling more positive about work today than I was yesterday (helped by my supervisors emailing me my annual report, which is full of glowing praise and no concerns!)
Plan for today:
1.) Sort out conclusions slide for conference presentation, and look for places to reduce presentation length
2.) Prepare an answer for the question I have to discuss at Tuesday's job interview
3.) Prepare to discuss thesis structure with supervisors in this afternoon's meeting
4.) Go to meeting and write up notes afterwards (then go to the pub!!)
It's SO hard keeping focused when reading chapters isn't it?! Every time I keep getting down to read it, my mind wanders off again! The only thing that seems to work is using food as an incentive...I'm 9 pages away from a cheese and bacon stuffed spud (up)
hmm I am one post away from my breakfast..(mince) It is enjoyable to read you guys posts, happy, cheerful, with some down moments scattered. congrats to your progress.
my goal today:
1. understand correlation matrix fixup methodology
2. understand matlab code
3. add table to show difference btw true H and estimated H.
Morning everyone, hope you all had great weekends!
I spent the whole weekend sorting out my garden; I HATE gardening and my garden is massive, so I'm really aching today from pulling up all those darn weeds!
My aim today is to edit my methodology chapter, and I also might need to nip into town at some point.
Have a good day!
Good morning Button and all the other one goal threaders out there today! I sympathise with you, gardening is ok when it's fun stuff like planting new plants but it's awful when you're having to do weeding or cutting the grass, luckily we don't have grass here so it's a fairly low maintenance job for us!
Today I am mostly getting on with editing my chapter, I am getting a bit fed up of it now so I'll be glad to see the back of this one!
Hope you all have a great day (up)
Can I join in please ladies? I spent my weekend finishing my literature review chapter, today I'm just doing some final editing and I'm going to email it later this afternoon. Came off my horse yesterday and have a sneaking feeling that I've done something to my collarbone; didn't want to go to A&E yesterday as it would be busy and I had work to do, but I might go when this chapter is submitted. Fortunately I can still type with my limp right arm!
Have a good day everyone :-)
Yes Natassia please go to A&E now!!!! Get offline and go!
I've finished editing my chapter now (thank goodness) I'm just going to read through it one more time and check there are no glaring errors with it, then I'm going to have a long break away from the screen as I've been sat here for hours now! Glad you've had a productive day Button :-)
