Chapter 4 is finally edited, so just printing chapter 5 ready to read through tomorrow :-)

I have finally sent my chapter to my supervisors so that is my goal for today done. Tomorrow will be back to transcribing my pilot interviews.

At my local hospital they only do x-rays until 7pm and judging by the time I will probably have to wait, they will probably send me away so I'm just going to go first thing tomorrow instead.

Going to take my doggies for a walk now to get some much-needed fresh air!

Good luck with the lit review chapter Natassia. I think that you will be okay...even if you don't think so yourself...

I'm about to head off to the library to get out some material for my own lit review. I'm just at the boring policy and government document bit...in Australia, I am on school holidays for two weeks but at least one week of this will be the lit review, and one will be home stuff and work administration (and marking).

As I am doing a social science mixed methods study,I have just formally submitted full ethics application to committee,plus submitted detailed research plan to faculty review (the plan has recently been approved). Thus, I have just completed very drafty drafts of material for Chap 1 and methodology for Chap 3. (I:E Research plan and ethics application).

But now I have to leave these and really tackle a more comprehensive lit review-hence boring policy documents and library visit.

My goal for lit review is to have drafty draft half done by early November-when it is due for Grad Research certificate unit assessment, but a more polished draft completed by the end of January-after the summer holidays are over.(up)

Here I am again after being away from the forum for quite some time (I have a good excuse for that as I was staying at a village during the summer where the internet connection was AWFUL)......

So, I am starting my PhD work now (I was at my "real" work until an hour ago) and my first goal for today is to finish editing section 2 of literature review.

Hello Emmaki, nice to have you back! And well done Button, sounds like you're powering through!

I'm making slow progress today but slow progress is better than none huh! I have tidied up my office which has made me feel a whole lot better as it was somewhat chaotic!

Linda it may seem like I'm powering through, but when I say I'm 'editing' my chapters I'm actually having a read through and correcting spelling mistakes and silly sentences!

I really want to get a final first draft of my thesis today, so I can pass it onto sup. I've not got much left to go through so this should be achievable.

Goal 1- sort edits on pc for chapter 6
Goal 2- edit chapter 7
Goal 3- edit chapter 8
Goal 4- edit conclusion
Goal 5- sort page numbers etc and get total word count
Goal 6- SAVE THESIS EVERYWHERE AND BACK UP MULTIPLE TIMES!

I think you're powering through as well Button! Best of luck with getting your final draft to your supervisor today.

I went to hospital yesterday and had an x-ray, fortunately I'm not broken, have just torn all the ligaments and need to rest it.

Today is all about transcribing, really want to finish this interview that I'm doing today and then I can send it to a contact who's actually developed the method so that he can have a look at my interviewing technique.

Glad you're not broken Natassia, it did make me smile that you said you need to rest it, then that you were going to be transcribing all day! Make sure you do rest your collarbone as I don't imagine typing is very good for it!

I'm just working through Chapter 2 again today, I am finding this one really hard as there is so much to be done *sob* still, one thing at a time huh!

Glad it isn't too serious Natassia, but make sure you have lots of breaks from transcribing! Linda good luck with chapter 2, keep plodding on and maybe tackle this 'easiest' parts first!

I've done goals 1 and 2, so now I'm off to edit chapter 8 and my conclusion.

I'm about half way through Chapter 2 now and the corrections my sup suggested, so I'm doing ok, this bit is the worst in terms of restructuring so it will take me some time!

Well that's me done with my 84,000 word thesis; now I'm off to Tesco!
