I'm not sure about doing well, personally, Sneaks. It would appear that, in my haste to use yet another questionnaire development technique, I never actually thought about exactly how I was going to analyse, present and clearly show how I am going to use said data to inform my decision making. And, I think because I'm being punished for being an evil dictator in a past life, it appears that there are no clear guidelines on how to do this - doh! So it looks like I'll be using dubious data matrix displays recommended by Miles and Hubermann (1994) and just hoping for the best. Never mind...:$
I HATE miles and huberman, I never got my head around that stupid book. I need clear instructions, not 'you could do this' blah. i use a technique that looks at differences in how people explain things if that helps
i wish i could help with the questionaire thing but I've not got a clue about that stuff...yet again I've still done no work, due to having to go into town and get stuff for tomorrow, and then i took myself off to the gym for a circuits class...I now can hardly move, my shoulders are throbbing and I'm afraid to stand up from my chair in case I fall right over...maybe that might be just what I need to keep me at the desk and doing work! :-) and 12 tomatoes are good wally, I'm aiming for a target of 16/18 in a day though, maybe I'll work my way up slowly so I'll get there in about 2 months....
aqua jogging! That sounds amazing. Alas, I have a debilitating genetic problem of laziness :-(
Never reached 12 Wal, 8 was my best. I can't seem to sit for that long. Maybe I have ADHD or something. Although at the mo I'm using number of sentences coded as a mytomatoes substitute. Having a break every 10 sentences (they take ages!)
I've got a meeting with my supervisors on Monday, so I'll tell them I have 12 tomatoes a day (and that that's considered around about okay) and see what they say to that.
I have reached my goal of inputting the data from my questionnaires. 107 of them. I'm shocked really, because I'm pretty sure I only printed and gave out 100. 7 seem to have miraculously appeared from nowhere.
My next goal is to print a form... do nothing for a bit... fill it in, and then maybe head home to go training.
jinkim, I can't even imagine doing the amoung of physical activity that you do. I nearly started jogging last week, but the urge went away as the easter eggs rolled in :$
What are you training for Jinkim?
Iv'e not been aqua jogging before but it looks fun! I'm off regular running until I see the physio on Monday.
Well I didn't meet my transcription goal, because technology failed me and I couldn't get to the files I needed without a lot of messing about. So I read half a paper instead. All in all a bit of a poor day. I did 10 tomatoes.
Okay - I made changes to my paper. Didn't do all the refs as I needed to get it to my sup asap. But I'm going to count that as goal 2 done.
Now I'm twiddling my thumbs a bit as I can't really do much until he gives me feedback (supposedly he is going to read it straightaway and email back). Goal limbo...
lol sneaks, it's great being a poor student isn't it!
Well, I return with success this time, I have done goal 1, yay! Hopefully I can get goal 2 done tonight, which is to add in the second batch of data to the chapter, but I've got a lovely word file printed out that has exactly what I want to say, but I cannot find the actual computer file anywhere. Not on my memory stick, hard drive, work computer or laptop. I must have deleted it in my infinite wisdom and now I basically have to copy in the printed version. Ah hoo, better than starting from scratch!
keep trucking on everyone!
WOO I've finished another interview. I think I was WAY too optimistic this morning. I will try and get another one done tonight after dinner.
I've set out a tight schedule for tomorrow which should allow me to get 5 done. If I do another 10 over the weekend then I will have done 25/40 by Monday. Then the plan is to avoid sups emails until the remaining 15 are done. :p
The data matrix display I've selected for analysing and presenting the results of my cognitive interviewing works quite well as it turns out, so it's quite a relief. What isn't quite a relief if the fact that I have another 9 of these interviews to do and they each take an 90 minutes to do - crap sticks. One day...one day I won't have to worry about doing this any more.

just think wally, you've already knocked 90 minutes off with the first one done!! and good work sneaks with your interviews, I hope tonights last one is going ok!
I'm slowly getting there with my methods chapter, I keep remembering things that I've done and haven't included so I have added in about another 3 sections and just remembered about another one!! Nearly there though!! I'd love to get it all done before I go away tomorrow but some of the data I need in the office so I don't see me having time to fit it all in! Ah hooo! Just another bit to go tonight!
