nothing is working. my extraction from yesterday didn't work , so I'm having an early lunch so I can do another after lunch. Hope it works. My stats aren't working. My goal for today is to not cry. So far so good...
I hope it goes better for you this afternoon Algaequeen.
MY second goal is (more or less) done. I now need to have a break and lunch because I'm starting to flag. When I get back after lunch my third goal is to pad out the analysis for a particular extract.
And, I have 3300 words done, if I can get up to 4000 today that would be great.
First goal compelete - I've successfully cut down the wordcount to below 4000. No doubt I'll have to cut even more words later on.
So, I now have about 1500 words to spare. Since there seems to be quite a high demand for words today, I thought I'd sell them to the highest bidder. All offers considered. :-) (I know, I know. I said I wouldn't charge for them, but in this economic climate one has to take every opportunity.)
I, erm, SOMEHOW, ended up in a garden centre at lunch time (how on earth did that happen?)
goal for this afternoon will be to not get lost when going downstairs and ending up in another shop...
Woo hooo, well I didn't post this morning because I was a in foul (turkey) mood (mainly because hubby was being a complete *&^%&^ about his PhD).
But...da da da da da da daaaaaaaa
I've managed to finish my statistical analysis for study 2!!!!
Well - I'm waiting on my sups reply - which will probably be "do it all again, and differently" - but for now I'm not going to let anything ruin my party (gift)(mince) mood.
Tasks left for today...
Print out all the SPSS output - I did it on a trial version of 18 which will expire in 15 days, so NEED the outputs in hard copies!
yeah my uni does, and my hubby's uni, but both are using SPSS 16, which I do have on my PC. But I needed SPSS 18, because it has a 'bootstrapping' facility which I needed to use and the uni couldn't provide it. If I need it again, I may buy a personal licence and charge it to my research fund.
Woo Printed out and labelled all the output and sorted datafiles into a neat folder on desktop :-) that's me done for today I think!
ok! I have achieved todays goal of not crying, I even chopped some shallots and didn't cry so extra big whoop for that. I have also managed to not freak out about my lab work, I have a few ideas for things to try tomorrow so I'll see how that goes. Now, I'm totally totally shattered, so I'm off to bed! According to my other half, I sleep like a Granny, even more so in fact... :$
mornin' all!
Don't worry Algaequeen - me and hubby go to bed at 9-9.30 everynight because he has to be at the station at 6.30, so we kind of feel old. And then if we are invited out to anything that lasts beyond 9.30 at the weekend we feel really sleepy and often leave early :$
I've done 30 mins on my bike (145kcals, 8.3km) woop woop - I've eaten breakfast and now I'm going to take my (grumpy) dog for a walk.
Goal 1 this morning: plan out intro for study 2 paper.
Morning all.
I arrived in the department nice and early just after 8 and have spent the morning so far messing around because I needed to do some printing before a meeting later and neither of the printers in the building were working. I hate it when stuff like that happens :-s
My goal for the morning is to write, write, write between now and 11.30, which is when I have to finish and scoff down a sandwhich at my desk before going to meetings.
lol thanks sneaks! I'm fine with it usually, it's only when I'm staying with friends that it becomes difficult as I tend to fade quite eraly and if I don't sleep enough I get super grumpy the next day!
Toady's tasks are to try some more extractions, so goal 1 is to do my 1st one! Have a good day everyone!
