I have a bit of a deadline today, I've got to drive up to London with dog etc to stay there for the rest of the week, so really got to get this work done by 3-4.
Same goals as yesterday really
- Run statistics and write up
-Send to supervisor so it looks like I've been doing something
- send form (i've filled it out though!)
WOOOO breakthrough! Ok so basically I have a questionnaire, and when I did some quick "wonder what I'm finding" analysis months ago, there were some nice significant effect. I analysed it again yesterday and these had gone none significant :-( but then I find 2 MAJOR outliers which were clearly pulling the mean right down for one of the groups, so I found that they were case numbers 49 and 30 so delete them, no change :-(
But today, I realised SPSS meant it was 49 and 30 from their number column on the left NOT my 'questionnaire no.' variable - just worked out whcih two cases they realy are and deleted and presto - significance!

Greetings everyone!
Today is my first day back after a long weekend visiting family, and I am feeling like crap because I'm coming down with something. ugh.
First goal for the day is to input last weeks reading into Zotero.
Heh, Slizor, that's definitely the way to go. And following your example, my first goal is to swim 60 lengths in under 45 minutes. Yay, goal one achieved!!
Goal two is to make serious progress on the new paper I'm writing. I have an essay plan so I just (hah!) need to crunch out the words. I need to achieve a monumental number of words today, like, over 2000, if I'm going to have any chance of meeting my deadline.
Goal 1 done- literature inputted.
My next goals are to chase up a couple of references and to find out about putting a publication into my universities institutional respository.
Dear me it's been a while. I returned to the land of my laptop yesterday and did try setting a load of goals - God it's hard getting your head back into the thesis though! But today is a new day (albeit starting shockingly late) so here's thesis-related goal numero uno...
1) Write outline of ch4 and identify gaps that need filling.
c'est tout
Phew, it's hard work today. But I'm half way through my goal - just hit 1,000 words on my paper. Rubbish words in a very unstructured form, but words all the same. This paper is going to take way longer to write than I now have left to do it in. Ho hum.
Goal four of the day completed - to score a goal. I'm now at 6 for my entire season and 6 in the last four games (this "season" is about twenty games long.) If only I'd started scoring earlier.....maybe I would have got a call from Fabio.
Only, goals five, six and seven.
Five - 500 good, referenced words.
Six - Walk the 3 miles back home.
Seven - Shower.
