wow what a struggle today is :( Been trying to polish up THAT chapter, but I just can't get in to it. I think I've spent too much time on this and now brain is refusing to do anything more on it. I think I will focus on another (easier) chapter for few days and come back to this one.
Glad to see everyone else doing so well though :)
Right, I've tested and written up hypothesis 1 and 2. I have just run the analysis on hypothesis 3. I also need to run some more stats. BUT I also need to drive to london having briefly walked the dog. So going to save it all - stick it on the laptop and try and work on it once in london (with a 5 year old trying to dance around me probably).
So will let you know how I get on!
Managed to write 1850 words today, which isn't bad really. But not enough! May have to beg an extension off my supervisors. Maybe I'll mollify them by sending them the paper I actually managed to finish writing at the same time as asking for extra time for this one. Gah - I feel like an undergraduate! But really, trying to write two papers at once - what was I thinking?!
Today I have, hopefully, completed my data analysis - that was my goal from getting up. According the what the numbers on my computer have given me, it works really, really well. I'm chuffed because something has actually gone right. It feels weird because all my goals from now on will involve writing and lots of it. I'm going to become a word count junkie.
An early start for me today and I'm hoping to get lots done! At least I can be safe in the knowledge that none of my PhD goals today will compare in awfulness to the first task I had this morning: clearing up dog xxxx from the kitchen floor... :-/ (why is there no vomiting smiley?)
Anyway, on to more pleasant things: section 2.3.3. :-)
Right, I have two and a half hours until I have to go out (doing a school talk for a project I volunteer for). I need to make some serious progress on my paper in that time. Goal 1 - sort out the structure and re-order the parts I've already written.
Morning all.
I'm feeling a bit groggy and ill but have done bugger all work this week so need to get on with things. First goal is to spend between now and 11.30 working on analysis.
Goal one achieved! Woo hoo. It was a lot easier and quicker than I was expecting. So, straight on to goal 2: writing as much as I can!
Good luck everyone!
Goal 1 done. Well, I didn't end up working on analysis but instead realised I should make a start on a paper for a conference I have coming up, so managed to make a good start on that. (up)
Now I'm going to work out (may help with my grogginess as I only have a cold afterall) and then lunch.
Not done much today. My main goal is to look up jobs (after making a cup of tea), sort out anniversary present for hubs, and then write a few things up.
