Oh dear, make sure you eat plenty of food to mop up the excess alcohol in your system! I don't drink much during the week anymore because I find it impissible to work with a hangover.
I got goal number 1 done- worked for my target time and got all of the introductory stuff and background literature set out.
I now have loads of transcription to do, so will work on that until lunch time.
I'm totally unmotivated today :( so sleepy. Have been trying to get on with work and failing badly :(
I hate days like this.
Oh dear, I hope people resolve their hangovers and manage to find some motivation! It feels like such a hard slog at times.
My first goal for today was to go swimming - 80 lengths later I feel loads more awake. Took me ages to walk across campus from the swimming pool though - there's an open day today and the place is swarming with teenagers and their parents, all clutching maps and looking hopelessly lost!
Goal two - write the background section of my upgrade report (or rewrite from bits already written)
Don't worry Pink numbers, we all have days like that.
I ended up getting distracted with arrangements for travel to Germany for a conference next weekend and hardly got any transcription done at all. Must concentrate and get on with it this afternoon. My next goal is to do so until 3.
thank you :) I think it was having two late nights in a row... unfortunately, it wasn't due to working late (like a good student) or partying (like people our age) but jam making!!
I had a nap though and I feel much better now. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and go to bed (such a tough life...)
;)
Right. My transcription came along slowly today- I did 3 pieces. I will do some more first thing tomorrow when I'm feeling fresh.
next goal is to finish off for the day is reading, and to do this until 4.30 (which will be 15 tomatoes, so a good day for me!).
I am technically on holiday, BUT I need to practice my presentation, so my goals today are
-to go through my presentation at least 3 times
- to make sure I know exactly what I need to say for each slide
- prepare for every difficult question I can think of!
I'm falling behind the timetable I made for myself to meet my deadline in 10 days, so today I need to get lots done and get back on track. Goals for today are:
1 - Finish draft of Background section (two-thirds done already)
2 - Finish draft of Aims and Objectives section (already started but needs thinking about)
3 - Edit both sections to within the word limit I've set for them
Right I've been to the hospital and the gym, now it's time for some serious work. I have a conference paper due in 3 weeks and I'm still floundering wildly and not making any progress. So my goals for to day are;
Goal 1; finish reading book chapter
Goal 2;bullet points of conceptual model
Goal 3: identify processes I cannot yet describe mathematically
Goal 4: Find potential sources for solutions of goal 3
Whew that's rather alot of work I think but must press on.
I did my 5 pieces of transcription. Cannot. Do. Anymore...
I have a pile of papers to get through so most of the rest of the day will be spent reading and summarising.
I've been out and ridden the horse, had a shower and washed my hair so feel ready to do something productive.
Goal 1 - finish doing the amendments to my proposal to email to supervisor, hopefully by 1pm
Goal 2 - finish reading a short-ish book I'm 1/2 way through and start summarising
Have a good day everyone :-)
Goal one just about achieved. With a section of it still to do but left for another day. I feel like I've achieved nothing today! Goals two and three will have to be done in the morning, before I start work on tomorrow's goal. Boo hiss.
But I promised to meet some friends for a drink in the pub very soon (they're all working so it's the start of their lazy weekends, grrrr) and I really think I need a break from the work, so I'm going to try to forget about the report for tonight!
Hope other people also get a chance to relax...
