I'll have a goat! I love a bit of goats cheese!
I'm absolutely shattered, I've had my daily cry though so I'm feeling a little less stressed and hopefully will get this results section finished tonight. Uuuuuuggghhhhhh writing is sooo crap....
I hope your husband feels a bit more upbeat soon Sneaks, it's not nice worrying about some you care for. Maybe he should try looking at things in a different way, as in he may hate his job but at least he's got something, and once you get a job then he will have a bit more freedom to find something else, but until then he should just try looking at the positives. It's not a great solution I know, but there's not much else he can do I think.
ah well hubby's feeling a bit better today = I'm feeling a bit better today! (up)
I must strike while the iron is hot!
Goal 1: Find stats for first paragraph (no I didn't do it yesterday :$ )
On goats cheese mmmmmmm love goats cheese, yogurt and milk :-x in fact, when playing the either/or game i.e. "would you rather have X or Y if you HAD to give one up for ever" I am well known to say that I would rather give up electricity for life rather than goats milk :-)
Morning all. I've had a couple of days really out of it. I did a half day course yesterday but apart from that I let things get on top of me and I got nothing done.
So I am getting back into it today (for real this time).
My first goal is to rehearse my conference presentation which is next week and to edit the video clips for this.
well I'm admitting partial defeat on goal 1. I've got stats for the UK and US, but it turns out its actually illegal for some countries to publish the stats I need! or even measure it, so I can't be bothered to spend all day searching for people who've talked about numbers/percentages. I'm going to get on with it and tell sup its impossible.
Goal 2: finish intro paragraph with suggested changes :-(
ooh I love me! I've just found a document on my desktop called "nothing been done" and its a load of notes to critique all the work I'm writing about e.g. nothing been done on these kind of participants etc. - yes the grammar is awful, but the messages are clear! I have no recollection of me writing this at all!
Morning all, I've not done any work for 2 days and had a lie in this morning :$ so I really must get on with work today! My aim for today is to do a plan for my discussion section so;
Goal 1- read books/journals to prep for discussion section
Good luck everyone!
Good luck getting back into it Button.
Well I didn't manage my first goal and feel like I had a bit of a wasted morning. I rehearsed my presentation and edited some of my video files, but realised that I can't edit half of them because of the format they are in. I spent some time downloading converters to try and resolve this but failed and will have to go into the lab on Thursday to edit them there. Grrr.
My second goal today is to look through a collection of extracts and figure out where I'm going with a new analysis.
What a find sneaks! That's like the academic equivelant of finding a £50 note in your old jeans :-)
Goal 1 for today was to write out a plan for how I could get this thesis beast slain over the coming weeks. I have a week to week plan now written and it doesn't look so hideous on paper.
Goal 2 (once I've been for lunch with a friend - a girl's got to eat after all) is to note what's lacking in chapter 4 and start filling gaps.
urgh I'm on a diet and cheese is banned :-( I've had oats so simple and a tracker bar so far. I have no idea what to have for lunch. Desparately trying to ignore the car keys that are whispering "mozarella dippers at mcdonalds" - I know, SO WRONG! haha.
I am getting in a right mood with these stats, I'm trying to write the paragraph with the ones i've got but they are rubbish!
Ooh I love goat's cheese :-x Best served on warm pitta bread, mmmmmm
Today isn't going so well so I really must set some goals.
Goal 1: go to the shops and find something healthy for lunch (resisting the goat's cheese!!!!)
Goal 2: make a start on reading those docs that I listed as relevant yesterday
Mmm cheese. I'm about to have some stilton with my lunch. I'm also on a (pre-beach holiday) diet but can't do without my stilton.
I have been through my collection of extracts and have selected some to transcribe in more detail for analysis (Jefferson transcription. Weep.). I have transcribed one so far and my goal after lunch is to get as many more done today as I can stand.
Hi everyone! Have done absolutely nothing for over a week and must get something done! So far have sat at desk and looked at facebook and heatworld and now thinking time for lunch and Neighbours :$. Ahh! Oh, might try that tomatoes timer thingy - have a presentation coming up and a paper to make final changes to but am feeling bit too pottery about the house and play with the dog. Right - goal 1: make changes to paper and send to sup. Goal 2: make plan for rest of week. But a girl can't work on an empty stomach...
I ate peanut butter on granary toast for lunch and a braeburn apple.
I'm extremely annoyed with supervisor who has changed all my writing without track changes and I've just discovered - deleted whole sections because SHE is writing it for a paper and I am writing it for thesis, so she doesn't think they are necessary but they ARE for the thesis :-s
I was going to go and adapt it for a paper afterwards! So annoyed, I could literally punch a hole in my wall.
