I've had a good morning - woke up refreshed and went for a brisk dog walk. Although I then met an old lady on the dog walk who I sometimes see and she said "god, you look really tired" - thanks! now I feel rubbish.
Anyhooooo
Goal 1: Annotate publication with notes to remember for thesis
Morning all.
I have spent the last few days at a conference and am going on holiday for a week on Saturday but need to spend tomorrow sorting stuff and preparing the house for BIL staying to look after the cat.
So today is really a day of tying things up.
Goal 1- to have a look over my chapter as a whole and figure out how far away it is from being finished and which bits need the most work etc.
Morning everyone!
I was working till 11pm last night and feeling very despondant, but got up early and had a really good swimming session. Now I actually feel loads more positive. I have a meeting with my supervisors in 40 minutes to look over the final section of my first year report, and then the rest of the day is finishing off editing and getting the thing spiral-bound and handed in. Yay!
After that's done, I intend to do nothing on my PhD work until Monday!
So, goal 1 - prepare for meeting with supervisors
OK. I am almost happy with 2 of the analytic sections for my chapter, but one of them needs more work. My next goal is to sort this section out. If I do this it means that I will then have a decent complete draft of the analyses for this chapter. This will be a good place to be able to leave things before I go away as then all I need to do is to sort out the introduction (which is half written), write the discussion and then tweak it all and send to my supervisors. Woo.
So, on with the final section of the analysis...
Meeting with supervisors went well, they finally accepted my latest version of the final section of my report.
Goal 2 - type up small changes on final section following meeting
Goal 3 - cut 1500 words from the report
Goal 4 - check numbering of sections
Goal 5 - format and print out
Goal 6 - get it ring-bound and handed in. YAY!!!!
well done batfink!
I have finished my goal 1 and been playing around with data and deciding which datasets to use.
I *think* my 2nd goal is to create a 'final' data set from which I will do all my analysis for my third study.
Good going Batfink and Sneaks! We are getting there!
I've done goals 1-3, and hopefully it shouldn't take too long to do the next one, so I can add some more to the list! whoo!
oh dear, I think after a lot of faffing about with stats, my questionnaire is essentially rubbish - its actually quite funny
Goal 4 done, whoo!!
I think I'm going to toddle off to the shop for a nice bun and then I'll make a start on the next section!
Goal 5 - Stats for group comparison
Goal 6 - Stats for environmental trends
