1. I've finished my directory!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's taken me months and months to check every single service that I'm focusing on for specialist services. No one has figures on this stuff, so I'm hoping and praying my examiners feel its a good addition to my thesis
2. Finished my content analysis of 'Age and Aging'
3. Goal for today- content analysis of three more peer reviewed journals.
Its 52 days tomorrow and by Friday 13th (!!) I want to finish all my result chapters and my discussion chapter so that I can start reducing chapters 1-4. I really want a completed draft by the end of August. I'm trying to keep calm!!!!! (Very very difficult! It's taking every bit of energy not to panic).
okey dokey! Got up early cos I was kind of awake, and have done no work yet! :$
So! Goal 1 - shower!
Goal 2 - start pulling out papers I need to talk about in my chapter discussion
I'll see how that goes before the next goals! :)
Happy Monday everyone!
I really can't be bothered today!! :( I'm usually very motivated but this morning I'm feeling very drained and tired :( We have a landlord inspection today so I need to tidy my rooms!
Main objectives for today- completely finish chapter 6 today. (or chapter 5, or chapter 7)
I have 52 days left and by Friday, it will be 48 days!!!!
End of the week- I would like to have all my result chapters finished as well as a first draft of my discussion chapter- perhaps a tad ambitious but we shall see
right, had a nice weekend at the folks'. But today is the 9th of August - Really!!!? I need to get a move on with EVERYTHING.
Goal 1: put sense of panic over not having a job to go into come October away for today and concentrate on the PhD.
Goal 2: send supervisor the work she wanted in 2003 word format - yes she is the only person on earth who hasn't worked out how to open 2007 docs
Goal 3: Get on with the factor analysis stuff and send to supervisor for her interpretation
hmm... Well I've successfully showered, cleaned the dishes, and tidied around....
Goal 2 though has devolved into a re-organisation of all my papers into separate little piles for each topic I'm talking about, which has taken over the living room floor...At least I've pulled out all the ones I need though! :-)
Also spent a good 45mins drumming up some motivation by putting all the chapters I've done so far together and formatting it all so it will look like my final thesis, which was fun!! Can't wait to see it all don, so best get back to it!!
well I've done goal 1 and 2.
I've just realised that my data is all skewiff and think I've recoded some aspects and not others - so going back to the raw data and making a brand new data set to start afresh. - this may take some time!
Right, the fear has got me, only it seems to take me ever-further from progress rather than driving me to actually write. I wish I could just turn off my personal life for a month and really absorb myself in this. Still, I'm now staying with my best friend so there's no excuse not to be happy and productive. Goals....
Goal 1: Get all my files open (remotely) and set up for work
Goal 2: Create the next appendix table for this chapter
Goal 3: Finish these appx tables
Then I get a cup of tea, and maybe even a biscuit *wags tail*
