hi grahamwebb.
The main rule, for me anyway, is to only set manageable goals and no more than 2 at a time. I had a 'sneaks accountability thread' where it just went wrong, because I was setting myself a long list everyday and not getting anything done and then feeling rubbish, so that's why it is the "one goal" thread.
I personally don't count waking up/showering etc as goals, well for the PhD at any rate.
I might stick to 'my games' which are spyro, super mario (currently on super mario galaxy 2) and anything that is colourful and not just variations of green and grey. Hubs plays red dead redemption, pro evo, call of duty, prince of persia, unchartered, resident evil, bioshock to name a few.
My fav game at the mo is anything to do with colin mccrae :-)
woo sent application, Finally! its taken about 2 weeks to get that sorted!
Might take the dawg out for a walk now. I also need to clean my kitchen cos my parents are coming this weekend - its very dirty - I mean VERY we had the house plastered about 2 months ago and haven't cleaned since - its literally got plaster dust on the surfaces still :$
Wow, I managed to do 14 tomatoes for the first time in ages and didn't run out of steam at all. The literature section I am working on is now almost done (up)
Now I am off to the gym.
wow 14! I get bored around 8 usually and haven't used it for months - there's a rebel side to my brain which refuses!
Goal 1: Write out definitions of my 5 outcome measures in method section.
I haven't been on here for a while as I decided I needed to take some time off (first hols in 12 months) - that didn't go so well and had a alot of drama with my oh, as a result I'm really struggling to get back into the swing of things and am just as stressed as ever. Oh well, must get started - I have my first conference presentation coming up and lots of work to do for it.
So goal 1: finish reading chapter 3
I've been very lazy indeed and haven't done anything yet...had a little lie-in then went to the gym, then food shopping and a healthy lunch, now sat down to work for a few hours before riding the horse, then carrying on with work tonight.
Goal one is to find some papers on an online journal that I like the look of and download them - my supervisor wants me to submit a chapter of my MSc dissertation to this journal so I want to get some inspiration!
Goal two is to finish a mini literature review that I'm doing and send it to my boyfriend so he can have a look at it - he's an excellent writer so really useful for proofreading and improving my writing style.
Have a lovely day everyone, Nx
do you have your horse in london? will you bring it to a london meet? :p
I really want a horse, but I've never even ridden one haha! Actually maybe once when I was little.
ah ok, I started counting tomatoes just before lunch and have managed to clock up 15 for today so I'm feeling ok with that, got to bump it up tomorrow though. Time for bed methinks!
I was a lazy cow and didn't get either of my goals done yesterday - so doing them today instead, was meant to be going to a party tonight but think I'll be staying in now!
Sneaks - I keep my horse in Surrey, I live in SW London so it's not too far, takes me 15 mins to drive to the stables with no traffic. I think it would be a bit difficult to get him into central London (!) - I can always show you a photo on my phone! He is lovely, I wasn't able to ride him for 5/6 weeks due to retraining him (longstanding behavioural issues) and rode him for the first time again yesterday, was so lovely and I nearly cried!
Have a lovely day everyone.
Nx
I'm in the office today for the first time in almost a month -in fact, it was a struggle just to get here but I'm in so goal 1 is to assess where my work is to date.
Wow yes 15 tomatoes is impressive!! I think my all-time high was 12 :$ I'm going to use mytomatoes today actually. So goal1 DONE. Goal 2 lit search for one section of big review (I'm starting off gently!)
