In USA memory stick or USB is a popular name although I find American English a bit weird. I have to speak twice to any American for them to understand my English accent(which is British, ofcourse).
You cannot say petrol in America, instead you use the word gas, hahaa
LOL@ Hypothesis and the American version of "bum-bag"! Yes...how words can take on such different meanings. The word f*****y in the US is a word like a granny uses to reference a bum, its considered to be a harmless, sort of almost cute or baby-ish expression.
I dont care what it is called - but I do wonder how we survived without them!!! I remember saving my undergraduate work onto floppy disks and then cursing when they died for no reason.
