There was always at least ONE lecturer that used to wonder around in summer with scarey looking shorts from the 60s with sandals and worst of all, thick white socks pulled up to calves.

Professor in my department who worked with fungi had a jumper with a toadstool on the front...now that is taking your passion for your work too far.

Ha ha, I would pay to meet some of these people. We had a Prof. who used to wear full arctic gear (including those carbon fibre walking aids) even when he was "trecking" through marks and spencer!!
