Bazzab, I tend to go to places like Callaghans, Demspeys, Toucan club, Molokos, City Arms. Are these the wrong places?!! I also hang out a lot in Llandaff cos I sing in the cathedral

Well the bars I think are quite nice are steam bar, fat cat, bar 10, copa, isit, ha ha's, henry's and there is one by hilton hotel that is nice. These names might be slightly off because Im normally intoxicated when I get to them but see what you think. I guess it all comes down to personal preference on certain things (music, price, location, decor etc)

I met my OH ceilidh dancing. I'm 25, he's 29 and a computer geek so intelligent and doesn't like football at all (or know about Biochemistry so I can appear an expert)
I would say avoid socks and sandals (unless you like that :-o)
Are there postgrad socials? Ceilidhsoc here has a high proportion of people that are in "the real world" :-0 and stayed in the area, so maybe something like that would be ideal?
