Question about masters with a 2:2 degree
G

I don't know the in's and outs of funding in your particular area. All you can do is apply and see. I would imagine a 2.2 would see you in the cattle markets that are Manchester Met, UCLan and the like. The more prestigious Universities (I'm not sure of how the Uni's rank in your field either) will be able to pick and choose its students - a 2.1 would certainly help. I'd try for the more prestigious - it will pay dividends career wise.

Probably reasonably likely. Two proviso's. A lesser Uni and expect to pay (i.e.. not funded).

Rather flies in the face of expected logic re Intl. students and funding, but good luck with those anyway.

Look in your own country for funding opportunities. Funding for non UK/EU students in the UK is virtually non-existent.

In all seriousness, I have more chance of partnering Wayne Rooney (regular readers of the forum will note my footballing aspirations have changed from central defence) in the Manchester United attack on Wednesday night against Roma.

Doing a PhD at a 'non red-brick' university

I don't think people are necessarily saying its the be all and end all. But like it or not (other things being equal) a PhD from X is often 'considered' better than a PhD from Y (and so on). If you're at Y I can see why you don't like 'them apples', but sadly thats life.
