That, or get 2-3 years 'relevant' work experience and try again. That may indeed be the best option.

there are 120 Universities in the UK. Where are you looking Nick (top 30)? You 'may' have more joy in the 3070 bracket (i.e.. the old Polys).

I think 1000 words a day is a tremendously ambitious target. Try knocking a zero off. I (personally) believe thats about right for this level.

More likely Nick just didn't make the standard. Not meant to sound harsh, just being realistic. You could ring/email them and ask of course.
