Currently I am doing MSC (Aeronautical) from France and I am planning to go for a PhD but the major problem I am facing is the Reseach Proposal.

As I am interested in Solid Mechanics, Crash & Impact Energy Materails, Engineering Materails, Smart Materials (Piezo-Electric Actuators/Sensors). But still unable to even think about a single topic or title to put the research.

I will be very thankful if some senior can advice, guide and help me.

Andy - was up at uni the other day to have a first meeting with my (now) supervisor. Couldn't help noticing how young all the undergrads were! Got me thinking I should upgrade my moisturiser to extra-strength anti wrinkle!!!

Do any of your libraries have a current subscription to the Canadian Journal of Physics? I've been waiting on an interlibrary loan for two weeks (I KNOW, IT'S NOT THAT LONG...) - it's THE most important paper I've come across so far in my PhD and I have a gut feeling that it's NEVER going to come (or maybe the day after my failed viva), and my gut feelings are usually good. Anyway, I'm pretty much going crazy, it would be great if someone could send it to me...

Or supervisors if you have more than one ! Mine have all fairly boring names: there is John, Andy and Matt.

As you can tell, i'm still avoiding writing my model...

Yeah, out of the two UCL is much more well known. However if you're studying PhD level it matters less where you study to a degree and a lot more who you study with (and hence will publish with initially).
