4 supervisors?

Hey Zelda. I'm having 3 supervisors due to the nature of the project I'm doing. I'm hoping it's going to be okay. Are you going to need to see all 4 on a regular basis? Like you say, i'm guessing I'll only have 2 of them as key supervisors and the other see less frequently. But yeah, anyone out there who's done it, let us know !

Changing Uni After year 3

Hi Sara, I may have misunderstood your question but you will probably find that in your 4th year (writing-up year) you will be regarded as a part-time student and will pay substantially reduced fees (for me this was about £110 a term). The draw-back of this is that you lose the benefits of being a full-time student (such as council tax exemption). I'm not sure I understand about changing Unis, surely you will have to pay fees at another University too?

Hello everyone!
I will be doing a PhD in autumn, funded with a studentship from the British Heart Foundation. Since I will be given a stipend, will I have to pay for national insurance and also be able to claim any benefits? Do the three years of PhD count as "qualifying years"? Please tell me if anyone knows. Thanks

4 supervisors?
G

I have just started a PhD (last week)and have 4 (!!!) supervisors. We are all meeting up to dicuss how this might work next week, and in the meantime it was suggested that i get as many opinions as poss regarding what system might work best. for example, does 4 sound like too many? Should i have one/two 'key' supervisors who are at every meeting? Does anyone have any suggestions regarding number of supervisors and what does/does not work?

Changing Uni After year 3

Hello all. Does anyone know if I can change Universities after my third year. I am currently on a scholarship but wont finish in 3 yrs. I am home student so I could transfer to part time after the 3rd yr, but if I wish to change Uni since I will now be paying fees, IS THIS FEASIBLE? Thanks all.

if you are a full-time student, you qualify for a ytoung persons railcard, even if youre over 26. You just need it stamped by your institution. ask at the train station.

I'm so tired ...

No problems, I hope it all works out well for you

too expensive!!!

Why should foreign students get the fees subsidised? it is the british that pay taxes, so its not discrimination at all, it is just being fair.

I don't think anon is saying that it is rubbish, they are merely saying that jobs.ac.uk is better. This is a fact that I also agree with, but it would be pretty narrow to use job.ac.uk and not any other site. Perhaps you should get your facts straight.
