Yes, I agree, people should do their research and look for it themselves, but you don't need to insult them. If they don't have that initiative, then its their fault. What is the difference between NewRoute PhD and the normal one?

24 and just started the second year of my PhD. I did feel old when I saw the new intake of undergraduates. Some of them look 12!

As are MANY MANY other people (my housemate included!). They did this clever thing called APPLYING. They researched carefully where to apply, got the application forms, filled them in, sent them off, went for interviews, spoke to professors, enquired about funding to the relevant people and then their plans came to fruition. I know, such a shocking way of going about things !
