Yeah, I think a lot of people get that sort of feeling, but when you get back into the world of academia, you will pick it back up again. Don't worry about it too much

Telephone interview
G

Ihada telephone interview for a PHD but when it started it became appearent the supervisors had no real interest in considering me for the PhD, they were just going through it, and even told me who they wanted for it. I suppose they just had to go through it to show they considered all applications. Some places have to advertise positions even when they know who they want to give it to. If they were really interested in you they would pay for your ticket! No one should take a PhD on without seeing the supervisor face to face, it is in the best interests of the student and the supervisor.

Slowing Tempo!
G

I started a PhD programme in Jan 2004, the tempo and enthusiasm was too high. After transfer in April this year, the interest has considerably gone down. Is there a way to overcome this?

Fees
G

Hi Hal. I'm assuming if you've got a stipend from EPSRC you're a British student anyway. Part of your studentship will be that your fees will be paid on top i.e. the 13.5K is your personal allowance (tax free of course !). So you don't have to pay any fees !
