I was looking at an opportunity to fund a PhD myself, is there any way I can do that?

I was looking for a PhD in the field of inflammation. With every PhD I applied for I was turned down. Then I managed to find a PhD in the field of human physiology and exercise and this is related to inflammation which I am interested in, but the PhD involves a lot of exercise and human physiology techniques. I love the LAB side of the research but not the physiology side of it. Will I have an opportunity to do a Post Doc in the field of molecular biology by doing a PhD in human physiology?

That's a 'wickid' idea! Why not incorporate the two? Perhaps have your viva over a candle-lit sumptuous vegan dinner? Examiners plied with organic wine will surely be less bothered by minor thesis flaws?

How is the MPhil degree regarded by employers (particularly in industry) compared to the PhD? Is it viewed as a failed PhD, or is it a 'proper', standalone qualification?

I am slated to interview for PhD in a week. I tried to get a face-to-face interview but the University says they can't pay my ticket-whether I should read too much into this is probably a topic for another day but in the interim, what should I expect from a phone interview? I have a feeling it's an 'in-depth interview' as opposed to a 'screening one' since there is only 3 of us short listed. Anyone with experience?

Hi, I am just going into my final year of a microbiology degree and am keen to do a PhD. Does anyone know of biotech/pharmaceutical companies that will either sponser a PhD or allow you to complete a Phd while working for them?
