Have you looked into some Canadian Universities? You should try some in Nova Scotia or British Columbia. They have some programs you may be interested in. Good luck.

I suggest you look at profs who share similar interests to yours, and contact them. I suggest having a CV (or resume) and a program of study you can send them too. And look at a variety of profs, some may not be as nice or willing, so keep trying and good luck. There are many great institutions in the UK. I am not sure however, which ones specialize in public relations. Happy searching!

If you've got a system that works for you then stick with it. However, might be worth you trying Endnote or Reference Manager, I certainly wouldn't have wanted to write my thesis without Endnote. It makes rearranging citations and creating bibliographies extremely easy. Also very helpful when writing papers as it will automatically input references in the style of the journal you are targeting. As you can download references from PubMed (and probably other databases) it won't take you long to create your reference library. Hope that helps.

You can always publish by writing a book review or being a second author. Or is it way different in the science realm.

What happened to treating people with some respect?

I am quite appalled at some of the insults written by some to those asking for help. I was hoping this would be a forum to help each other out, even if its a simple thing such as telling them to actually apply for a PhD by contacting profs. This application process we are so used to and is our norm, is not so elsewhere. Therefore, when someone asks for help, if you don't have anything constructive to say, then may I suggest that you go back to writing your thesis and leave those wanting advice alone.

I'm in my last year at uni and I'm looking to do a PhD but am finding all the information a bit overwhelming. I am quite interested in doing an industry sponsored PhD but a bit unsure where I should be looking for them. Also, my professors have been telling me I should be looking and applying now yet all the websites are mainly advertising for 2005 entry not 2006 entry. Any help would be appreciated, I'm a bit confused!

I did a science masters, and got a paper published

Why?! i have been putting my references on an access db...now my supervisor says they need to be put into endnote...that is fun!!! I have a load to sort out...!!!

My head of group said i should get a PC...cos he likes his PhD students to have a life!!!! Ha ha!!!
