For doing a PhD in the US
1.Browse through the department webpage of the univ.s. you are intersted in.
2. look fo rthe requiremnts they ask for..usually they are GRE, TOEFL, SOP{statement of purpose} and filled in applications.

PhD s in chem & biochem 'll give you financial support usually.

I was just wondering if people are not go into the research environment after their PhD. I now know i won't and it's cause for me to quit because i don't see the point in having a phd if your not going to do research. am i wrong?

Hello, I am a French student and desperately looking for a PhD in the US/UK. What are the chances that I get funding from US/UK to do a PhD in chemistry/biochemistry? and does anyone know how to do to get a PhD in the US/UK?? Especially for the US? It seems that it is really the Far Far West for me, untouchable! Thanks for any ideas how to do!

Thanks findaphd team, that information was very helpful. Since my original question, I have come across one or two available opportunities that I think would be ideal for me. The thing is, even though the admissions people accept the difficulties I had in the past, it would seem that I am still at a big disadvantage to other applicants. I realise that there may not be any black and white answer to this, but would it be possible to win research council funding purely on the strength of a very successful MPhil?

i have been looking through projects and studentships on this site.but what i find that almost all of them are related to Genteic, bio and related fields,,could not find a single project related to pure IT field, any particular reason? as name of website does not mention any specifiction about projects on it.

You can try and normally Universities prefer people with related study/experience,does not matter from what institue you come from.

you can try HERO website. there you can find ranking of this University and that all of its departments so you can see how its rated.But its too late anway and i belive PhD depends on student most of the times.

well this is really hard to find over here.you best bet would be to check with Universities of your interest or check the scholarship sites for south asian countires.you can try british council website in india as well.

No offense, but you should of asked this question before even thinking of making an application to HWU....however, I think they are quite good.
