Having a non UK degree will not count against you. At least that is my experience. Both my bachelors and masters are non-UK and that didn't prevent me getting into a top English Uty for my MPhil. Having said that, it could be that my UK MPhil made it easier for me to get the PhD position that I am in right now. All the very best.

I guess the first thing that you need to find out is the specific area that you're interested in. Once there, you need to locate people who are working in the field and try to see if the topics discussed relate to your interest. If it's a 'yes' there as well, you might want to get in touch with the people/uty and express your desire. Make sure you include a sharp CV and a short write-up of your ideas. Good luck!

I'm a Swedish student wishing to undertake PhD studies in Britain. Apart from the fact that I'm not eligible for all funding, will having a non-UK degree count against me? I'm currently studying at one of the best universities in Sweden.

I went to a so called "crummy university". Did a BSc Hons in Medical Biochemistry and got a 2:1. I wish I had the opportunity to go to a posh uni. To receive a higher quality of teaching, work in better equipped laboratories, alongside students of higher caliber and motivation whom I could study, and compete with. Then maybe I could have got a 1st class degree.

You can see the details whatever you want regarding German studies at www.daad.org. The DAAD organisation is in India. Also, according to German policies, you can't work there, coz, you can't get permission for that. However, you can do as a part time work for MAXIMUM of 90 days only.

I recently graduate from my second degree and I achieved a First class. I would like to take a PHD research in computing but I have no idea and I do not know where to start. Do you have any suggestion?

I would like to take on an oncology or neuroscience PhD but I don't know what areas within these general themes. How much of the field will I be expected to know before I apply? How can I find clear and concise information on research in these areas?

well...i am a young medical doctor for 3 months,i applied for phd schollarships (tons of applications)in biomedical scieces.I have research experience in biomedical field,my cv is ok in my opinion...all applications have failed...why?because i am a Romanian doctor?Because Romania still out of the EU?I am curious because they didn't told me the reason of reject...whatever
