Hi can anyone direct me to a web-site that tells the average wages within the environmental, science, research, and consultancy areas?

I would like to know if doing a PhD is going to earn me more money in the long run - not just in research but other environmental science areas too.

I too am hoping to do a part-time PhD and have been told by many universities that it will take six years unlike a full time PhD that will take three years.

You don't need a PhD for that, you can just sit in front of your TV and do the research yourself... ha!

I am an oveseas student,B.Ed, my years of study mean is 86% and license examination is 83.5%. what it would be the equivalent in GPA system or British system(first, 2:1, 2:2 etc) Thank you,

Oh. Thanks Steve. I think I need to be very careful before I give some suggestions to others. but I still haven't been asked for GPA when I am applying. I think maybe because I am a student in arts rather than science. What is your working area then, science? And, sorry, imm, maybe there is difference between arts and chemistry.

Hi, thanks Charlotte. I tried my old univ (UOB), but none of the academic staffs are specialised in the area that I'm going to work in. And I was told by my tutor that we can discuss the intership only after the resault of my master dissertation. But it will be too late, as the result will come in Jan, and i want to try some other univs in DEC.

Hi, Chiedo, I think Charlotte's suggestion is very useful. And as I am in mass comm area as well, if you don't mind, I would recommend univ of Sheffield, Westminst, Birmingham, etc. I think they have some staffs working in this area.

Why not try your old university?
