Hi! I want to complete a PhD in an environmental science or water related area. I have a 2:2 BSc Geography and MSc Water and Environmental Management. I have worked for two years as an Environmental Consultant and two years as a Land Surveyor but have no research experience.

Can anyone tell me how to go about gaining research experience so when I apply next year I will stand a chance?

You dont need to apply for a masters first. A GPA of about 3.0 is roughly equivalent to a 2:1, i would say, so you should be ok (you might want to get this checked officially). And they WILL ask for it. I would advise you to get in contact with some labs informally first, then take it from there.

i have completed the undergrad degree in medicine, the MBBS and completed the masters MD in biochemistry with a first class from a reputed college in india. i am really interested in doing a phd from uk. how do i go about the whole process , especially finding the funding. help me.

yeah, imm, I think you can get the phd in uk. I think you need to fill in the university form. I don't know what degree you've got. if it is master you can apply phd with a research proposal, cv, reference, sorts of things. but if you are an undergrad, you probably need to apply master coures first. and your gpa is fine, but they may not ask for it.

I am currently in UK but finding it extremely hard to secure funding. I currently have a 1st class from physics and electronics and a distinction in Information & communication technology engineering from coventry university.Well, since i am not qualified for EPSRC and other UK awarding bodies, which other source can one turn to? I am really confused because i seriously what to give this research a shot having the Overall best project prize in the MSc dissertation with a project record of 91%. purely programming!!!
