i have 2 proposals/interests
G

I have two ideas about my research, they are related but not the same. Can I send two proposals to the dept and ask them which one is better? is it better to send them at the same time or send one firstly and if it is not good, then send the alternative one? Thanks

Part time PhD
G

My impression: they don't. I am officially a parttime PhD student (UK), live in another country (need to work, self-employed, which also requires dedication). I sometimes get the feeling that enrolling parttime is interpreted by some as "has loads of money and doesn't need to work".

Sorry, currently bit annoyed, but like you, trying to find solutions. Saw that you hadn't gotten any replies and wanted to let you know that you're not alone in trying to find a way to lead a balanced life and not give up (almost) everything else in life

Research proposals and confusing application forms?
G

The science PhDs i'm applying for all have quite detailed information about the topics published on the web already. Do I still need to include my own research proposal with the application, when it's already been written by the member of staff??? Thanks, L

Changing universities to do a PhD
G

I am currently doing a masters by research at one university but am applying to others to do a PhD-Alot of lecturers at my current university don't understand why I want to change and go somewhere else! I have been to told it would just be easier to stay. But after doing my Bsc and now MSc here I need a change-Will this make it difficult to get a PhD somewhere else? Especially as I will need funding??

PhD eligibility
G

I got a 2:2 in BSc pharmacology, but then i studied master degree in drug delivery (pharmaceutics), and I passed it with a pass, can I get fund for PhD in pharmaceutics, or I cant as I got 2:2 and not 2:1?, I am a British and home student.

I am stifled! Any hope?
G

Don't look back and keep trying. You obviously know where and what you did wrong and the only thing you can do now is to build on that. It will be difficult to get accepted into future courses etc so it may be worth doing some short term work based around your chosen area in order to build up some experience. Either that or 'wipe the slate clean' and start from the bottom!
