i am a nigerian wanting to school in uk ,how do i go about funding

if you are applying for a master then they will look at you grades in details especially those regarding the master course but if you want to do a phd, what matters is your referees and your work during your bsc final project only

I am trying to get my referees to prepare letters for sending with phd applications but the problem is that the main supervisor i wish to study with is one of my referee, is it possible or will i have to ask someone else for the letter?

I have contacted several potential supervisor at different universitites and sent the applications to all. In the case I get accepted in a few, I will have to choose one place but how can I explain to the others that I no longer want to study there after all the time they spent thinking of designing a project for me?

I wish to know why it is asked on the application form to state which other university I am apply to for a phd and which one is first choice? what difference will it make for being accepted and if I apply to many, which one should i mention, the best or the worse?

I am 34 and interested to do a PhD. If you think you are able to do it just have a try and go for it!
I can image your worries about your age, but still if you enjoy science it is worth the effort.
