Are there any International students here who are going to start their PhD in Sept/Oct that are funded by ORS, DFID, CSFP, or DHPA? I just need some info regarding these.

just began an MA program (which i kinda fell into) and am really beginning to love it. in terms of preparing to apply for a phD (my university is small and does not offer doctorate degrees, so i cannot simply move through the system), what would you suggest i do, get involved with, etc...to make such that when i begin applying to phD programs in a year or so, i will have a strong application?? thx.

Science is far better, especially chemistry. Business is just about running a newsagent, or working out profits and loses, basically stuff that a trained monkey can do. Science requires the use of a brain.

My friend did his PhD in something completely unrelated to medicine, and then went on to become a "proper" doctor. So now he's Dr. Dr.

Hey, can anyone tell me the difference between these 3 types of masters? I'm set to do a 12month MRes...as its longer than most MSci's, is it valued higher?

Sirs, Why is there a special Category for business and law and none for Science??? I think it's unfair especially as Scientists are better, in terms of both intelligence and looks and have more interesting things to discuss. Seriously though, maybe mods should consider adding one?

Well, it depends what you're comparing it to really doesn't it. Personally, i dont think its one of the better universities in the UK, but i'm sure there are plenty worse. i'm also sure i'll be heavily abused for saying that :)
