I would prefer the goverment sorted out the scroungers who are born and bred britons, sitting around on there backsides all day long not needing a job because the tax payers keep them in enough money to have an easy life.

I'd much rather give my hard earned money to someone who is going to do something with it rather than chav-scum who will buy drugs/alcohol and cigs with it.

Someone, Jen I think, has a really cute chicken called fluffy (I think).

Personally, I think goats are lovely, I would like a couple if I ever get a job and a big enough house with a reasonable sized garden

I didn't get an offer for my Phd until August 2005 and never had an interview or anything. Plus didn't actually apply for it or any other Phd place.........I wonder who this person is/was....

I dont understand, why do you want to be like other people? Surely you make the decisions in YOUR life to make you a better person (in your eyes) and that should have nothing to do with what other people say and do. You should decide to do a PhD because YOU think it would be good for you rather than because you want to be like someone else.

Yes there are people on here who do say silly things (me included) but it's only for some light relief. Doing a PhD is tough, no one will deny that. We all need a break now again and people express that differently. How can you place everyone on this forum into the same group i.e bring up old threads. It was actually only DanB, then Sylvester and me (to find out how Neil and onwards&upwards were doing).
