Wednesday morning blues - what have you done
I

Working from home, so 'breaking-up' the work with planned distractions - try it!

"All the guys I work with, who range in age from 23 to 45, are unanimously agreed that she is as close to perfection as any woman can get"

Really? She seems nice enough, but there are many young women that are attractive in the same way. I wouldn't say she was stunning, but then again I like 'different' - and blonde doesn't really work for me. Hard to judge someone on appearances alone though - I just don't 'get' beauty competitions!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

i get a particularly attractive red stripe across my forehead with mine, piglet

ok, i'll try the pants, although i always thought my bottom was round enough

The bakery there is amazing - just try to resist!

Application form for a job after PhD
I

I would start with what you are doing now (downplay the 'working from home' bit). Not that I'm an expert, but I see the application form as my only shot to get the shortlisters interested enough to want to meet me - so you're right to worry about how things appear (first impressions and all that), especially if there is a lot of competition for the job. Once you're in front of them you can talk about everything in more depth (obviously!) - it's all about grabbing their attention and interest in you as a real contender.

Good Luck

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Already got the seat cover, but will check the seat's adjustment - thanks!

Try making your own, Grey - it's ever so easy to do!

I do big saucepans of curry - they always taste better on the second day, plus you can freeze some and reheat on a day when you haven't got time to cook! (Gosh - I sound so smug)

Motivation issues! Struggling to find motivation to finish last few months of MSc!

Welcome, luisa!

'Any advice or tips from others who have been in a similar situation would be gratefully received!' that includes (probably) ALL of us here - why else does the 'off topics' forum exist?!

I can offer you no advice that you don't already know, but there IS comfort in knowing that others are/have been in the same boat.

And then, as deadlines approach, the fear kicks in...

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Ooh - I did my 20 mile bike ride on Saturday, Ann... my bottom is still recovering. I am tempted to ask about that particular pain in the rear that you get from excessive cycling. WHAT can be done to prevent it?? (Except NOT cycling, of course

LOL @ 'I would spend the remaining time contemplating human absurdity'!!!

I do that often already, Yamato! In which part of the world are you currently contemplating human absurdity? Are humanseverywhere 'absurd' do you think?

(Sometimes when I press 'enter' it posts - I wasn't finished!)

I think I'd probably eat crisps and not feel guilty, wash them down with vodka and say my prayers very sincerely.

What's your plan, Yamato?

You've still got his number Piglet?

rant: why people ruin library books with their notes and highlights etc.
I

Oh my goodness, it would have to be slightly simpler than that (to give people like me a chance!) - and why can I remember NOTHING about the 'phenomenon'? (I'm 32).

Could we build something into the plan that let us know when 'treasures' had been discovered? C'mon all you code/puzzle whizzes!

Good one! I think I need more information before I commit though. HOW is the world ending, Yamato?
