Pets and Phd life :-)

I was gonna bring that up today too - I'm still in shock. Sheep-humans? Regenerating limbs? Can you imagine an ageless society of mutant frakinstein's monsters? Apparently, it's just around the corner! If that happens, I'll be off with my one-way ticket to somewhere 'undeveloped' for the simple, natural life...

the last two days have been so gorgeous... I've been occupied down at my allotment (looking forward to the freshly barbequed sweetcorn cobs followed by strawberries and cream - yum).

A BIG lot of fry-up usually does it - but you have to have the lot: eggs, (veggie?) sausages, tomatoes, beans, hash browns, fried bread... and all smothered in brown sauce. Oh, my...

Any plans for Easter?

why would you inflict that on a 9yr-old 404? A carefully chosen DVD maybe...

rant: why people ruin library books with their notes and highlights etc.
I

Your views reflect my own EXACTLY aliby - I very much value books, i lurve them, I'm precious over them and have shelves and shelves of them. Fiction and non-fiction are different creatures tho. With novels, I have no need to write on them and duly insert my bookmark before rolling over and switching off my bedside lamp. With information books, I'm intimately involved - it becomes a mutual work in progress; amassing piles of loose sheets doesn't do for me, I'm afraid.

Library books, however, are out of bounds. A unanimous result.

I've always struggled with statistics - creativity, imagination, vision, all fine... what to do with the data I generate??? It's great if you're that way inclined - you'll always be in demand, j

Lost my voice - REALLY!

it's back again now, happy to say - it's one of those things that you take for granted until it's gone... like when I badly broke my leg and was in a wheel chair/crutches for 3 months. Moral: appreciate what you have while you've still got it!

Has anyone ever used or come across

They look beautiful on the picture - and despite the (minor)injuries, I love roses too.

I got a gift last year where I was supposed to have had a rose named for me - a lovely thought, but a bit gimmicky... I got a packet of 'unique' seeds to grow - good job I only tried with half of them because not 1 germinated! It was october though.

I'll try again in May - fingers crossed (and bandaged!)

argh......cheer me up...please!
