eh? i thought you had to take classes as a phd in canada? my friends at ubc do? or is that just a ubc thing?

14 hours/day in the lab is not very healthy.

i meant conflicting comments in that one journal said to take the paper to a more specialist journo, and when we did that the specialist journo said take it to somewhere with a broader audience ...

i've met a few of the edinburgh folk and know of some of the work being done there (e.g. chris williams). i think most people had done engineering, maths, physics or comp sci at undergrad but most had done little or nothing related to the area of neuroinformatics.

it wasn't of sufficient general appeal for the journal which is fair enough because i didn't think it did either *sighs* ultimately academic politics got in the way of good science :(
