I really think I need a break but it was going relatively well over the last six weeks or so, so I didn't want to lose the momentum. Because that could possibly result in 3 months of inactivity, happened before. I need a final push. But I feel I'm reaching my limits. I felt somehow really sad and depressed the whole day, unable to focus on work, also strangely hyper, rearranging the furniture in the middle of the night, cleaning the place, just went to ASDA in the middle of the night. But I know that it will be impossible to sleep, despite no caffeine today. The pressure is very high, all these ups and downs, who else is getting fed up with this neverending torture process?

Isle of Man, despite an independent government, does belong to the UK. Hence, funding as UK member is available. If really questioned this, VERY unlikely IMHO, just move to the mainland UK (which you would do as PhD student in any case, I assume?) and state that you lived their for three years previously.

Nobody can do a PhD with a thesis "basically written", that's nonsense. Nobody cares if "said relative" holds an MBA, as these things don't count. Every PhD students starts on the same level, as a student, and with all respective responsibilities. If said relative wants to do a Ph.D, said relative should think about going on this forum himself.

I don't know about you guys, but my major motivational drive at the moment is the fact that summer is approaching fast. It's getting gradually warmer in the UK and days are longer and longer. I just don't want to spend much longer in this office working night after night but finish the job. So I'll pull yet another all nighter until the job is done. I want to get out+get my life back.

Anybody else out there who wants to finish the job before another summer goes by. What's the song? Wake me up when September ends?
