Ph.D and mental health? Incompatible.

Is anybody working tonight?
J

I'll join the party at 11pm. Off to Asda now as it will be hard to survive with an empty refridgerator.

Is anyone else getting really angry...

That's a very nice car, H. I'm also thinking about a car, but a Ford Transit Nugget Campervan. What do you think?

Call yourself Mr Antarctica instead. No one there to be offended through your silly questions.

I wish. I'm afraid it isn't, though.

confused on what masters to read

Sometimes I wonder if this a Postgrad Forum, or the dummbeutel forum. You can do any Masters, MBA, MA, MSc. Some do Masters to specialise, others do masters to go into a new direction. Some to acquire general business knowledge as in the case of the MBA. Do some research yourself, Man.

PrinceofWales, could it be that you and the guy from the other blog, Mr African, are the same person? You have a similar request, posted about a quick or bought PhD at the same time and similar writing style. Even if you aren't: PhD in two years - just FORGET it. Thanks.

Let me add that the sheer act of posting this ridiculous question demonstrates that you, despite your "consultancy" work or three masters (did you buy them as well), have no idea what a PhD constitutes, what it involves and what it is. Nice way of embarassing yourself.

Let's clarify this, Mr African. Buying a Ph.D is like buying a wife or husband, buying children, buying weapons, buying drugs or buying decisions - it is just not right. So better don't waste your time on this forum, we are honest people.

Ha ha, sorry Chris, but that music band is not my cup of tea. If you love Sweden, you got to watch this:

Anyone else here an international student/employee?

It may not sound very helpful, but see it as an opportunity to grow as a person and to extend your horizon. I moved from a central European country to the UK in 2004 and I found it very tough and difficult, in particular the language and cultural issues. Now, a few years later, I begin to realise how it has helped me to move on. I feel now that, if the opportunity arises, I could basically survive in any country and get through the initial difficulties.

I think this thread is very interesting. Could you provide some small examples of cultural difficulties you are facing in the Netherlands?

Excellent!

I'm just going to watch this first to get motivated and then start at exactly 11pm. Minimum until 2am.

You can do it Chris. And now you are even in a very favourable starting position: your supervisors don't expect too much so they'll be even more surprised to see something amazing.

By the way, who's in it for an all nighter?

Are my new boots too trampy?
J

Dear Olivia, I think your cultural background might have influenced you here. In the US (except bigger cities or New York), I am sure they could be put in the SM corner, but in the UK, I don't think so.
