I'm exactly the same! Just can't get going, which is bad cos I have a lot to do. Doesn't help that no-one else is in. Getting annoyed over stupid little things. Just had a coffee break and think I'll just do some reading and writing; get back into things slowly.

Can anyone recommend a good bike for me? I have been using one that my mother got me, but it was bought by mail order and I can't quite get comfortable on it (think it's cos I'm quite small). Is it a good idea to buy a teenager's bike, or are they not the best quality?

I'm sure you've nothing to worry about: if he was up to anything suspicious with this girl, the last thing he would be doing is telling you about her. However it's not very tactful of your partner to tell you how great this girl is: he should know that the natural female reaction to this would be a little insecurity.

So don't worry, but remind him that you don't really need to hear about her!

Communication is important, I agree: I often think that one department does not communicate with another and that is the source of many delays. It's the same with many large organizations; try getting the local council to do anything in under 3 months

First, what doofus chose a couple of examiners that don't understand your field?

Second, is it possible that your supervisor is a bit lax in checking your results? No questioning of your work or abilities intended, I just wonder if your supervisor has not been guiding you properly (I've heard of that happening before).

If it's not that, then perhaps you need to go to the faculty reserach committee: here we have a very helpful woman who acts as a first contact point for postgrads with research difficulties. Do you have anyone like this?

You won't have any difficulty registering; my aforementioned colleague signed up on the day and wa also given a card within 10 minutes. There's an office for on-site applications.

Mind you I applied for a personal user pass, not a student one, maybe that's the difference.
