Hey, that photobucket website's good isn't it? Just signed up and thought I'd share this picture of my mother's puppy

Hope it works

Any plans for Easter?

Yes, my cousins are the same. They could hold their own against a load of students; no doubt your sister will too . When I was in halls a bloke brought his 10 year old brother down for a night and he loved it.

H, that's more than I've ever done! When I hear my voice on tape it sounds really nasal and childish
I hate looking at photo's of myself so the last thing I'd want is too see my mug on telly. But I'm excited that a Forumite is going to be on TV: Bobby, we're all waiting! Next thing you know you'll be doing interviews in the Guardian and writing a book.

One in the eye for anyone who's ever looked down on you too (specially those snobs you referred to in another thread about you getting together with your tutor).

404, that looks just like the book I got back off my student! Grrr. Haven't seen her yet; my supervisor is annoyed but thinks it's up to the library to bollock her, not me or him.

I was suprised at her, she is from a very wealthy family (servants and all) and I would expect she has been brought up pretty well. She was always very polite to talk to. But there's no doubt it was her.

Wouldn't worry, 9 year olds are more worldy-wise than most adults think. I'd had my first hangover by then

Timely post: my second supervisor ordered a new book for the library, cost over 200quid and is pretty much the Bible for my area. I took it out; and my undergrad project student borrowed it.

Just got it back off her and it is absolutely FULL of underlinings, scribbles and "SCAN THIS" next to half the bloody pictures. I'm so annoyed cos I am probably responsible for lending it out to her.

Honestly, who scribbles in a book that doesn't belong to them?!

Our uni is also cagey about the logo; mind you I know one nutcase mature student who tried to put it on their personal business card (wacky new-age therapies)so I can see why.

I would be crap at TV presenting. Ann, I remember the BBC asking a couple of years ago for applicants for new science programmes. I wanted my supervisor to apply but the deadline had passed. It's worth keeping your eye out though.

Applies to any contact in our case; they are very strict about it.

Does anyone elses uni have rules about contact with the media? Ours says that you can't talk to anyone unless it's via the publicity office; people have got into trouble for this

phd in Japan?
J

I knew someone who did this; apparantly the conditions were very hard, although the funding was good. 18 hour days were expected, and if you did not publish at least one paper every sixth months your funding was withdrawn (so I was told).

DanB is back
J

I think DanB already had a PhD post; Danny's last thread was requesting info about a potential PhD abroad, wasn't it?

Probably will use the time to write up a paper...boring. Though I might go for some walks in the park now that the flowers are back.
Not buying Easter eggs till after Easter cos they're then half the price (tightwad that I am).

Wow! You must tell us when it's on, I can't wait to see it. How did it come about?

Ours would cack behind the TV, despite litter trays and catflap. Think they just preferred to crap in comfort rather than venture outside.
