I've got a few, one was last week. It was fancy dress and I went as a cheetah (cheetah) <-- thought that was pushing it a bit! Another one is tomorrow night and we're going to watch a funny play thing.

I'm always jealous, not in a horrible way, just because I think my boyfriend is so perfect that everyone would want him for themselves! It only shows you love him so it's a good feeling really

My boyfriend went there so I visited him a lot. he loved it, the uni campus is really nice and the city has pretty recently been regenerated so has loads of nice bars, restaurants and shops. Also has more canals than venice!

I've posted this on protocol online too but need an answer asap so thought I'd try here too. When doing ligations I usually incubate at 16 C overnight. But was wondering if there is a maximum time I can leave it? Could I set it up now (11:30am) and then do the transformation tomorrow at 9am, more than 20 hours incubation? My supervisor reckons I'm going to discover a brilliant new drug target so he will be rich and famous! I've been in the lab solidly, my project is making a knock-out mouse, and I think I'll have the construct ready by xmas if everything goes smoothly. I think it depends on the project whether you'll have data, I think supervisors are very pie in the sky when it comes to these kind of things!

Tip for next time, make yourself a mask out of a pair of knickers put over your ears to cover your nose and mouth.

I'm not a fan of working weekends or evenings, I don't want to be one of those people that is always working. I suppose when I'm busy I might have to but until then I'm definitely sticking to my 9-5 approach.

I don't know, I can't keep up!

I just read "A short history of tractors in ukrania" (title was something like that) It's not about tractors though. I thought it was a nice book.

You can change the format of the citations to whatever you like I think, but I suppose if you need two different formats in one document then that wouldn't work.

I pretended I had hurt my leg so I could speak to him, then told him my name was Lisa (which it isn't) and gatecrashed a party and tried to get everyone to teach me to play rugby - I was young, drunk and stupid!

I feel exactly the same! I am convinced I'm not smart enough to do this and I find it hard to feel like my PhD is the most important thing in my life at the moment because I quite like all the other bits! I always feel like I need to work harder and constantly think maybe it would be better to just get a job. But then sometimes it is great, and even when it's not I just keep reminding myself of the flexible hours, student discount and anything else that might cheer me up!

Well I've heard of it and I'm from two unis both in the top 50. Maybe it's just cos I'm a commoner!

I watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but that only had stereotypes of Greeks having big families and having lots of parties. Maybe there were more in there that I missed.

I'll vouch for golfpro, I've heard of that phrase, I'm from the south - maybe its regional.
