Anthropologa, well done for still doing the 15mins of writing, even though you dont have access to a computer. i find sometimes writing by hand is a refreshing change!

whooopsy Lara was naughty today.

after accomplishing aim number 1 and finishing off a chapter, i backed up all my files from this week onto dvd. and then took the rest of the day off unintentionally oooops. i guess i just needed to relax and unwind after finishing a chapter.

now i am back at the computer, for the evening/night shift. about to start work on chapter 5. me hopes!

new aims for tonight:
chapter 5:
1. introduction
2. results
3. discussion

FULL time phd takes 3-4 years. (3 years minimum)

lit review takes a long time, hard to put a definate time on it.

*looks at the other forum members for answers to the other qs*.

it's not a reflection on you or your ability. my second paper just got rejected, these things happen.
hang in there..as long as you try your best, that's all we can do.

hey peeps, it's friday, which means its BACKUP day.

please take some time out today and back up everything you have done this week onto at least 2 other formats: 3 differnet formats would be preferable, and also if you can keep one backup in a different location, example, one backup at work, one backup at home and another backup at a friends/families house.

backup to anyone of the following formats:

dvd.
cd.
email.
print.
usb key

just popping in, to confess, i have just accomplished aim number 1, hurrah and had great delight ticking it off my big wall spiderdiagram. yes i am sad like that, ticking off a chapter or a section, gives me joy lol.

now onto aim 2, starting a new chapter...

angie that is a fantastic idea! definately go treat yourself and watch that film. its your birthday! only once a year. and you are working hard. tommorow will still be there, and you can start work again. and you will feel better tommorow because you know you treated yourself on your birthday, so you wont "resent" your thesis.

update from yesterday. filled in most of the missing sections for chapter 3. (mainly the introduction bit, so finalised that last night) started to proof read the rest of the chapter, but felt really sleepy. so just going to do that now. but yes Anthro, if it wasn't for this thread, i would be lost !

aims for today:

1. finalise and proof read chapter 3.

2. write a first draft of chapter 5.
a) introduction
b) results
c) discussion

but part of me is actually anxious about leaving the house, i don't know why. like i am suffering from a mild case of agoraphobia or something. weird but yah sometimes i just can't do it, i just can't leave the house. i think i've associated not leaving the house with completing my first draft. if i havent done my first draft, i shouldnt leave the house or something. i'm planning on emailing my sups the first draft (as much as i have done) by 7th of july which is the final deadline, and then taking that day off and the next day off, i'm actually going to a concert on 8th july but feeling abit nervous about going. lol don't know why.

and glad to hear you went to the doctors, that makes alot of sense, about being indoors. yesterday i felt very claustrophobic all of a sudden and i just had to get out of my house. so walked around in my garden for awhile. i think you might have something there, the whole being indoors all the time. once i hand in my first draft, i am going to start taking regular breaks and actually leaving the house and maybe ride my bike in the park. otherwise i will turn into jack from the shining lol. my friend called me up the other day and we were lauhing about that, saying i would end up running around with an axe.
