Hi Ruby, thanks for the message and for the positive outlook. i am nervous though how many corrections they want me to do. realistically i only have 1 week to do the corrections. then i gotta print and bind it. i am nervous that one week wont be enough to do the corrections they want me to do, but i guess i will just have to try my best and do as much as i can. because i really *have* to submit by 31st october. but i am glad that tommorow i will get feedback for at least one chapter, so i can work on that over the weekend.
i didnt do any work yesterday, i wasnt feeling well, so slept most of the day. i have a cold. not feeling well today either, but i just have to get on with the work, i cant afford to take another sickie day off.
my 3rd sup said he can meet me early afternoon tommorow- so i think i will turn up at 1.30pm and wait until he can see me, i asked him for a specific time, but he hasnt replied, so i will just turn up early afternoon.
i keep worrying about how many corrections they want me to do and whether i will get it done in one week.
i am going to get some lunch. and then try to do some work.
my aims:
1. notes on methylation methods.
2. sort out Raw data for chapter 6
3. sort out entry forms and exam forms

i am nervous as to what they will say in the meeting, its going to be intimidating to say the least! the three of them, but its okay, it has to be done, and then once the meeting is over, i can start correcting it and finally submit my thesis.

i did ask if i can meet earlier, but my main sup said no, he needs the weekend to finish reviewing my thesis. but my 3rd and 2nd sup said they can meet me friday afternoon to go through the chapters they had reviewed. so that way i can start working on those chapters over the weekend, get a head start. as i suspect chapter 6 the one that my 3rd sup reviewed, is my weakest chapter and will need the most work.

Ruby what was the thread about that you started? and i am sorry to hear that you got insulted. poor you. sorry to hear you're under the weather. i am too. i have a sore throat and achy body. taken some medicine. i hope i can shake it off today, so i can start working properly tommorow. i hope you feel better, get some rest so you'll be more refreshed to work later on.

i am not sure if i am mellow, i feel i am highly strung especially when it comes to phd related issues!! but i definately agree with the bit about i do spend alot of time thinking about my friends, surrounding and my life , that is spot on!!

Hi Ruby :-) nice to hear from you! yeh it was definately nice to take a break from it all.
i havent done anything today. i was feeling abit under the weather. i took a long nap, and feeling much better. had a bouncing session to perk myself up! just 2 sessions of 2 minutes each.
my plan for today is :
1. correct chapter 6
2. correct chapter 7

i've been checking my email nervously. but no my sup has not emailed me. i will give him one more day to get back to me by email. and if i dont hear from him by the end of tommorow. i will call him thursday morning. i hate calling him on the phone, i prefer the detachment of the email medium. but i have to chase him down, as time is ticking by.

I have FINALLY finished proof reading and correcting all 7 chapters. now i am awaiting anxiously about the critisisms my sups will hurl at me on all the chapters, eeeeeeek, i hope i can correct it - i only have about 9 days to do new corrections that they suggest. then 3 days of proof reading and final checks, 1 day for printing. and 2 days for binding. i am hoping to submit on thursday 30th of october. as i want to go to my best friends halloween party on 31st october.

I am going to email the people my sup must have given my chapters to. he told me, he was going to give each person a chapter. and i spoke to my friend today, and she told me she thinks one of them has already read chapter 6. i am nervous though, but i have to chase them now.

okay i sent the email! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek i am going to be VERY VERY VERY VERY nervous all day tommorow waiting for his reply and what my sup will say. but i am preparing myself for the worst. i did my best, if he says its all a pile of poo, and he wont let me submit and i have failed - then i will deal with that.

update from me:
i finally finished proof reading chapter 6 on friday night, and then i proof read chapter 7 on saturday morning. i started to then correct chapter 6 on the word file and my best friend called me to meet up. i then ended up spending the whole weekend with her and her 2 sisters. it was a really nice weekend and i had so much fun.
so i did no work on saturday evening ,sunday or today!
i was thinking of working tonight , but for some reason my eyes are hurting, and i dont know why, so i am going to rest my eyes and start afresh tommorow morning and do my corrections for chapter 6 and 7 tommorow and wait very nervously for a reply from my sup. i think so i dont get upset from an horrible email i might recieve from him, i will first correct chapter 6 and 7 on my word file. and THEN check my email tommorow. i dont want to lose a day of productivity, because i got upset from an email from him.
this is the email i am expecting him to write
Dear Lara,
I have not had time to read your 250+ page thesis, it has only been two weeks since you sent it to me, I am very busy. I will get back to you when i have read your thesis.
or he might write:
Dear Lara, I have reviewed your thesis, I am sorry to say, but your thesis would be failed by examiners. There is no argument in your thesis, it is very genearlised and it is not detailed enough. Earlydays, i totally agree, i dont share my chocolate with anyone!! i could eat bars and bars of the stuff easily. but like you, i dont keep it in the house, if its in the house, i will eat it ! i have no willpower at all. why cant chocolate be good for you. why are all the yummy foods in the world bad for you!! so unfair. i wished we lived in a world where chocolate was healthy and good for you and you could eat it and it didnt make you fat or anything. that would be my ideal world hehehe. to eat whatever i wanted without worrying about health risks. like those lands ontop of the faraway tree.
Smoobles, lol at mini trampoline idea. i love hot chocolate too, with marshmallows, yum. sounds like you had a healthy lunch, so i wouldnt worry too much about the indulgence. as they say as long as you're healthy 80% of the time!

well this was my first day of my "healthy diet".
my food intake:
breakfast - 1/2 litre of water + peppermint tea with honey and splash of lemon juice. tommorow i will cut out the honey and see if it tastes okay.
mid morning snack - i had fruit. apricot, strawberries, banana.
lunch - salad and tuna and granary toast with extra light cream cheese.
dinner was chicken with vegetables and salad.
dessert - 2 dates and 8 almonds and 2 pistacious.
total water intake 1 and half litre. i can only drink water with a straw. i am the worst when it comes to drinking water, but concsiously making myself drink water.
see you tommorow folks. all this talk of chocolate, has given me a craving. but no, i have alot of weight to lose, so must stay strong!!!
Hey Armendaf! great to hear from you and your update. sounds like you're thesis is just fine, if your supervisor said that, so well done you! i know there is still loads to do, but you can do it!! just do the best you can!! i cant believe you have to give lectures ontop of writing, i dont know how you do it!
i will keep you company this weekend, as i am so behind on my own schedule, i've spent 2 weeks proof reading! instead of just one week. i'm such a slow coach and a procrastinator.
but good on ya mate for putting on that battle face.

Well i am calling it a night. update on what i achieved today:
i corrected chapter 4 on word file; and i proof read and then corrected chapter 5 on the word file.
i wanted to finish all proof reading and correcting (chapters 6 and 7 are remaining) but i am a lazy so and so. no really, i am!
but tommorow, i will get it done for sure! i have 2 chapters left to proof read/correct. chapter 6, and chapter 7 - conclusions! then i can start making notes on what my sups might tell me to write, plus on sunday i wont get anything done, as i am going to a wedding.
i am dead nervous about what my sup will say next week about my thesis, i keep thinking he's going to say, it's all rubbish, it's not even a thesis, it's crap! but i am preparing myself for the worst critisisms he can throw at me, so that way i wont be too upset, or shocked. so i'm expecting him to say its all wrong and all rubbish. i have 3 days left of living in denial and being happy lol, before he critisises my thesis. then its going to be nightmare from monday onwards!!!
well i am off to bed now, see you folks tommorow :-)

yah, I will definately let you know how i am getting on with the mini trampoline!! :-) i did loads of research on it, read loads of articles about it. one in the daily telegraph helped me with which one to get, apparently there are lot of low standard bad ones on the market. but this is one exercise i am definately going to stick to, i have a tendency to get excited about things and then eventually drop it and get distracted with something new. but not this time!!

well update from yesterday. i corrected chapter 3 on the word file. i then printed chapter 4 and forced myself to proof read it before i went to sleep, fell asleep at 1am.
so aims for today:
correct chapter 4 on word file.
print chapter 5, 6, and 7.
proof read chapter 5, 6, and 7
correct chapters 5, 6, 7 on word file.
Juno, I concur, i havent done well at all this week, and have gained a lb!! i blame all that cheese and crackers i ate on tuesday and wednesday.
i've got granary bread and low fat cheese spread now in the fridge. so no more full fat cheese for me! and no more oreo cookies or ritz crackers or crisps!!
so far today, i have drank 1/2 litre of water. and i am drinking pepermint tea with abit of honey and splash of honey. and i did 1 minute on the rebounder.
my menu for today will be:
fruit salad for breakfast.
lunch - salad with tuna flakes with balsamic/lemon drizzle. with 1 granary bread slice with low fat cream cheese
dinner - chicken and vegetables.
snack - handful of almonds
and bouncing throughout the day.
no junk food today!:-s
i will report back later on tonight, to confess what i *actually* ate. good luck everyone with your healthy eating choices and exercise today!!
sunday is my *day off* i am going to a wedding, so will eat whatever they serve!
