Oh I'm struggling so much at the moment, I'm finding it really hard to find references that are relevant and referenced properly, and that aren't massively vague! Change management is such a pain! Looking at the bumpf I've found so far it seems quite "trendy" and I'm finding a load of websites that basically have plagiarised other people's work so I can't even look at the original reference! Argh!

Well my goal today is to carry on adding in the theoretical stuff which will probably take most of my day up! I had a terrible day yesterday but at least I tidied up what I've written so far!

Davies, I'm only managing to bash out that many words because I'm a social sciences based PhD and I'm working on my analysis chapters at the moment, so it's my work which I know inside out and can write lots and lots about. When I'm writing the theoretical framework stuff it takes me much, much longer and I'm lucky if I manage to get 300 words out! Which is why I'm struggling so much at the moment! I'd say my style is really different from yours Button, I find it really hard to know what I want to write about until I get going, if that makes sense? I kind of know what I want to say but I find it hard to articulate until I get some words down on paper! I wish I was as good at planning as you are!

Well done you! I'm still on Goal 2/Goal 3 but I may scrap them both in favour of reading through my sups and potential examiners thesis. I want to make sure I'm "doing it right" by their approximation! I've done lots of thinking so that's good... though I'm now needing a nap!

Well done Button, I'm not doing very well with writing today though I don't really have an excuse I'm afraid, however I have achieved Goal 1 which was to re-organise my chapter into sections, I've lost a couple of hundred words but hey! Hopefully I will be able to come back to it this afternoon and get some proper writing done!

Hope you're feeling better today Button, I hate being poorly and then trying to work! You had a fab week last week though workwise so good on you!

I'm kind of dithering this morning about what I want to do the most, so I think I'll start with something "easy" -

Goal 1 is to re-arrange the sections of my chapter into a more coherent structure!
Goal 2 will be to add in some theory of change and disempowerment
Goal 3 will be to read the papers I've been downloading this morning

Overriding goal though is to keep the word count going! I managed 1,000 words on Friday, not 100! So I'm now only 3,000 words to go, which will include the introduction and discussion so I should be able to get it wrapped up this week I hope!

I've just been re-reading this thread because revise and re-submit sounds awful, espcially your experience Pineapple with your sups scaring you with MPhil before your viva! I'm suppose I'm just a bit worried/concerned that your supervisors would let you submit your thesis if they were confident it would be R&R or MPhil... My supervisors are adamant that my thesis is going nowhere until it's PhD level! I wonder how common it is that people get asked to revise and re-submit?

I think I would do the revisions but it would be alongside a job as I can't afford financially to go beyond 3 years. Don't give up hope before you get there, as Dunni says, supervisors don't always get it right. Good luck!

Grr so I've achieved basically nothing yet as I've spent all morning chasing my bursary payment! (I realise I am lucky to have a bursary but it would be nice if it actually arrived when it should!)

I had my annual review yesterday and I passed, thank goodness! It was a very nerve wracking experience and all we really talked about was getting ready for viva... it's good cos it means that they obviously think I will get there but it's like the pressure has suddenly increased! Eek! And I was so nervous that I worry how my nerves are going to cope with viva! Although I can't thank the folk on this forum enough for posting their experiences and breaking down the mystique of the viva!

So goal one today is to finish the rough work on my chapter today, as next week I want to get into refining and doing the introduction and conclusion bits. I want the "beef" of the chapter finished today. So here goes...!

Good work Button! I'm off to uni today and tomorrow so my goal for today will be to get there and back in one piece! My goal for tomorrow is to pass my annual review, eek! Good luck today (up)
