I couldn't agree more with the sentiments in your post. Leaving IS often harder than staying, and you should feel proud that you have had the courage of your convictions.

As for leaving itself, am I right in thinking that you only have to return the part of the stimpend which you have received but will not be working for? If so, won't this still be in your account? Working with supervisors who know you want to leave - this could be tricky. However, they have no right to make you feel bad about your decision, and I would hope that they would still act professionally towards you.

OH = other half, I presume, although whether mormons use this term or "one of my other fractions" is debateable...

Imagine you're a female who's kept herself "pure2 until after marriage, despite being tempted. Then, on the wedding night, you discover your husband has a chronic problem with his "machinery" and can't perform. I think it would be a major problem , and I can't imagine that a marriage where the sex side of things are poor would be that likely to survive for long without one or both partners looking elsewhere. Sad, but this is a basic human instinct. Therefore, it makes sense to practice beforehand That's completely different to sleeping around and having ONS, of course, although I don't particularly disagree with that either.

Yes, I did, both before BSc, and between BSc and PhD (2 there in fact). Don't know if it's helped as haven't started PhD yet, but I think it helped with BSc. I guess it depends how you spend it...

Are there really "watchers and stalkers"? I find it quite sad, not to mentioend a little alarming, that people both have these tendencies, and have nothing better to do... What exactly is gained from it?
